  4. yeah had two collie bitches (litter sisters) on the farm once had to be separated so my uncle down the valley had one, but whenever they set eyes on eachother they would run at each other and go at it hammer and tongs!! this happened all their lives?? but i do and have kept both dogs and bitch terriers, but prefer a bitches methodical approah to working? OLI

  11. A locator collar is going to cost between £150-£350 depending on what youre after and can afford, the old deben boxes are a good place to start if on a tight budget and can be found on here in the ads or ebay etc or the newer long range deben is ok dont go for the mark 2 or 3 though they were known for trouble, then there is the ortovox stuff which i use and cant fault it (D3) or the bellman and flint which is expensive but also well worth it and i cant fault that. any of the l;ocator systems are a good thing as you can get a mark and keep digging until there instead of digging blindly at t
  12. Good thats its a happy ending pal now save up and get a locator and also join a working terrier club like the fell and moorland in your area (if there is one of course)as you would of had an instant support network of mainly experienced lads to lend a hand, even though most of the replies o this thread were of this nature, we cant help from behuind a keyboard and good on dublin dezzy cheers oli
  13. I remember digging one about 20 years ago with my dad and step brothers in our moor at the bottom of our farm, we opened up and dad grabbed what he thought was the dogs back legs untill the black brush came into view!! was funny looking? we let it run and never saw it again or any dark cubs in the area?? did have a couple of BoB tailed ones though great photo is that black un though cheers oli
  14. Developing a fighting fox!! lol !! saying that it doesnt state anywhere in the current LAW that you cant use a Fox to Hunt or Kill other Foxes ????? lol
  15. i have the D3 its a good bit of kit, at the time of purchase it was £ cheaper than the B&F which was what swayed me! It works quick and is accurate with its own collars 1.0 is all but 3 foot. i have two of them and i really like the strong stuff collars for the transmitter collar too. I have tried it with a B&F collar (old type and new type) and they are very good too and accurate, i have never been more than 6" off centre of the dogs neck with my current set up. Im not saying the Pulse is rubbish as i have seen it in action and rate it highly but at an extra £100 it is out of alot o
