    We had the same trouble as mighty celt, we were out yesterday for 6 hrs, in two different valleys, the first place is always hit and miss, tried several places with no one home. Second place is generally always garunteed that Charlie is home somewhere, we tried several more places all likely places and nothing was home, there wasn't even much sign of any either?? We recon the midnight cowboys have been round these parts ?!!! Even though the farmer hadnt seen them?? Cheers Oli

    Great thread people, best I've read on here for a while!! A friend of mine was walking his dogs back through our local woods which are part of a large estate, he walked along a path which I had walked a few times myself, it is partially covered by large trees and is fairly dark even on a bright day. The path comes around a sweeping bend with high 6-8 foot banking on one side and a low 3-4 feet wall (with only one gap)bordering the woods on the other, as he passed the only gap in the wall he said that he noticed two figures walking on in front, even one of his dogs pulled towards them,

    Sorry to hijack the thread, I'm having trouble zeroing my 17 hwr at the mo, if aiming dead centre and three shots land say 2" high 1"left, do you then go up and left on your scopes ??? I'm getting well confused with it??? Cheers

    Hi that does sound like a good price but have these boxes been well tested on digs?? I didn't get the gist of the photo post was that dig with one of these new boxes?? I'd like to see some photos?? Also are you saying there is a new collar out aswel or will it be for use with the current ortovox collars and B&F ones?? Just wanted a clearer picture before considering putting up some money for one. Cheers Oli

    Those of us that are married only have reading before bed now adays!!!! Lol On this subject of books, I heard that the author Shaun Frain isn't called that but that name is an alias?? If true who is it?? They are doing another plummer in my eyes, a book for every subject/ breed, I have read a couple of his books they are very repetitive??? Just my opinion??!! Oli

    those silver line shovels that B & F sell are cheaper else where, look around, my mate has 2 one medium and one large, the medium one had the edges rolled at the top so didnt need any welding and the bigger one is only ever used to throw out, i got one of mine from army suplus store, old bulldog shovel, in the end the wooden T handle broke but me mate whos a fabricator welded on 50mm tube and made that a T handle that will out last me and never break!! oli

    yeah peroxide, i got it from a mate who goes into his local chemist and you can get it over the counter? apparently women use it to die their hair??!! ive not heard of hibiscrub?? would like to know a bit more about it myself cheers oli

    The best thing I have found for punched wounds is a good warm salty water wash out then I use Dry Cow Mastitis tube, and find that the small nosed applicator gets right to the bottom of the wounds, and being an anti biotic it seems to clean them up really fast. Does anyone else use them?? Also aquired some peroxide near end of the season, I didn't get to use it, but a friend of mine does straight away after the dig and it is supposed to froth up and clean out any dirt etc from wounds?? Might give it ago next season? Alot of good advise on this topic Cheers Oli

    they sound good, thunk ill get a pair to dispatch the numerous birds i trap,so its alot quicker and cleaner than whacking them on something solid?!!!

    good job pal, its not nice having to dig this time of year but when a keeper calls about cubs etc it has to be done?! i had to do 5 cubs just last week, and have another 2 call outs (tomorrow and monday) both litters well visible and doing damage to game birds (and lambs) !! Oli

    1 dog pup left to go , going to be rough coated, docked, wormed and ready to go. now 7 weeks old,strong and bold pup will prob make 13-14"tts Dam has 35 years breeding, although only a first season bitch, dog used with hunt. location in Cornwall near to Newquay Cornwall Airport priced at £150 ill try and get some pics up but they always too big to upload?? cheers for looking OLI

    Hi all my boss has lent me his air rifle but given me no pellets?? It's an Theoben Rapid? Mk1 12 shot .22, does anybody know the best pellets for this Rifle please as I need to use it at the weekend, and would like to buy the right ammo?? Thanks Oli

    hey i actually caught something?!! i made a top opening single entry, up right larsen the other day, and my mate laughed at it because its not conventional? but it has done the trick i got a crow last nite, now he has gone into the bottom/call bird compartment and its been reset, lets see if we can catch his mate?? i have made it using a two piece dowel trigger seems to work well?? ill try and get a pic up asaif any one has a maggie i would be willing to swap?? cheers

    the bitch in my avatar is park bred not direct from him though?!! but from a bloody good terrierman at the stevenstone fh she was called millie, nick named mad millie, she had ears that would prick up too. she is the grand dam to the young bitch i have at the moment cheers

    Hi there, firstly has any body got any call birds magpies or crows, near Newquay/ st Austell in Cornwall?? I have been trying to catch my initial call bird for a month now with no luck? I've been following advise from this forum but no luck as yet! When I do catch one I'll be able to do a swap back. I am trapping on Newquay airport Also is it ok to go upto and feed and put fesh water into your call bird during daylight hours?? As my work hours (05.30-17.30) are now all daylight (just)?? Cheers
