I remember years ago on a hunt I followed they used to use a dead fox which was stewing in a bucket with a lid on dragged behind a horse when laying the scent, a few of us used to sit in the back of the hunt truck picking up lost hounds etc, when the seal on that bucket was broken it was hilarious to see people bailing out and gagging ?

What hasn’t helped Southend is the college slap bang in the middle of town with thousands of students where there is a great demand for drugs which is sending all the gangs down from London fighting over the huge demand, we once had about half a dozen blokes running around our yard with machetes fighting with their rivals. Its a dangerous place to be a teenager and an MP going on today’s shenanigans.

The country’s f****d Wilf I agree all the main political party’s are to blame for this and until people stop voting for the same old shit it’s not going to get any better. This happened ten minutes from where I live I also work in Southend doing front line stuff with mainly BTP and I could write about an incident on this forum every day of the crappy people we deal with. Stabbings and murders in Westcliff the young lad who was stabbed and murdered in Old Leigh of all places a couple of months ago, these are all recent events it’s become a shit hole. I’ve met David amess he was at a friend of mines funeral he came across as a quiet harmless bloke, Southend is becoming a joke of a place stabbings all the time nobody deserves this for just going about his job.

It’s timeless Arry I’ve been reading up on the politics of the band and there was a lot bad blood between Waters and Gilmore which dragged the other two members Wright and Mason into it unfortunately, probably one of the best bands of my lifetime especially the early stuff.

I always thought it was a sort of farriers knife every days a school day as they say, wish I still had it amongst a lot of other knives that have passed through my hands I tend to look after things a bit better these days, I’ve just been looking at the Loz Harrop link above works of art something you would keep for life.

I used to own that exact Knife when I was a kid long lost now, I remember the horseshoe pick and remember thinking I’d love to dig a stone out of a horse hoove funny the things you don’t forget totally brought back looking at your pic.

I was up in Norfolk the other week I spent the day at the East Anglian Game Fair which was held on the Duke Of Graftons estate in Breckland, what a lovely area and place here’s a pic where they were doing the fly fishing could quite easily live in Norfolk in a couple of years time.

I think it’s good them Goats look hard going his face said it all when he fluffed that shot in episode 2, 20 year pursuit gone in seconds still he made up for it in less arduous conditions.

I was out the other evening with my .17 hmr and I had just shot a rabbit in the head at about 110/120 yards I have a pic but it’s a bit OTT perfect shot I was happy, but whilst skinning and gutting it I got a sense I was being watched, behind me in the opposite direction was a fox just sitting there at about the same distance 110/120 I looked through the scope it would have been simple to stick one in his bib but I hesitated what if it runs off injured what I’m saying is if it just doesn’t feel right let it go and buy a CF.
