  5. i must admit i'm a little baffled by this post. i cant really see where its leading. surely the best way to get good workers .is to work them and. cull the waste. there is a lot of enthasis on the faults in the plummer terrier. this is fair enough. but they are no different to any other breed of terrier that is bred so tightly ive seen many problems apear in working russells and lakies. that only show if bred very close. everyone knows these problems are there so they tend to breed accordingly . i bred a litter of plummer hybreds many years ago. i used a dog called Wizard. and produced som
  6. good topic this . we used to throw allsorts into the backfill big old logs roots slabs of rock. etc. untill i once dug down to a favourite bitch down through one of our old backfills to find her in amongst a pile of old roots. stones branches. and two foxes. she had been given a right old kickin. not only the face but her back leg and the soft tissue around her tush. had been chewed on. she made a full recovery but it was a close call. and on hindsight wee were to blame. for being lazy. ever since then what comes out goes back in. and nothing else .i dont do the digging anymore but the bes
  7. i had a jack russell bitch that was the smallest ive seen. she was to small to enter the unders class . thats when they used to have over and under twelve inch. classes. back in the day. she was smaller than the minimum hight so must have been under 9 inch. she got stuck 9 times out of ten but got a few bunnies. not really comparable to a ferret. stupid post to be honest.

  13. here ye go ,from about 5 weeks ago, might bring him out with us tomorrow, did you go ferreting dismorning? ,how did ye get on Is that his normal length coat or did you clip him? Looks like other breed did you a favour with the coat too from that pic, my dog, even after he's been clipped and bathed, fecking stinks within a couple of days because of the oily coat. I stripped his coat a while back, came back like that,he has a bit of a harder coat than a full wheaten, more wirey Thanks, would you normally strip or clip a Wheaten then? I've just been taking mine to a local girl

  15. i bred a litter years ago from a lakie. cross russell a few years ago that held its own in a fine kennel of lakies. it was to hard but was kept untill it wasnt fit for work. it wasnt the best terrier in his kennel to look at although handsome enough. but i dont think it was bred off. the lad did however breed some fine coloured terriers very smart indeed. i think he missed the boat as do some others. but he would never have seen it even though it was in front of his eye's folk that keep good stuff have a fear of outcrossing/cross breeding.. some folk take the plunge and do alright. look a
