  4. i dont blame all the shooters foxdropper. but there are some that indescriminately kill shoot any fox that they get in thier sights. and then leave it where it lies. gives you folks a bad rep. having said that the terrier game has its fair share of numpties. so i suppose your right
  5. good luck finding a decent working home for the dog. sounds like it would be very handy in the right hands crackin dog for a hunt maybe
  6. very enjoyable thread this. you cant take away what the mans done. a proper thinking terrierman. he would make use of all work styles and valued them. especially shout out terriers and ten minute wonders. alongside the more acceptable working styles. he used his loaf. in my opinion it was as much about the mans skills than as it is about his terriers. although i think they are a far cry from what they was. my old parson had a few foxwarren terriers in his ped. and he was none the worse for that. foxwarren scrumpy is one. he is in one of his books at the bottom of a dig drawing a very good size
  7. ive just came across a deben drain tracer kit. does anyone know anything about this . ie. what model it is ? cheers
  8. well its been pretty wild here. you must not of been driveing from dumfries to glasgow today. one school bus been blown over. thank feck they were off. or it could of been a bad day. look on the bright side foxes will be down
  9. Totally agree with you there fella. I was talking to a man lives near to me, shot a fox from his 4x4 the other night. His words "3 fields away and 376 paces" the fox hadn't a chance ! Don't ask me what type of gun he was using because I'm not into guns. I just thought that was pathetic, I told him he would have just got the same buzz shooting at a glass bottle and it would have saved him the dander. at least he got out of his motor. a lot of em dont they just move on to the next one. back to the post. they will be down now around here. no choice. its wicked. i dont see a change in
  10. i have a copy in good condition. what price do you put on it?.
  11. This about the most recent one from a few weeks ago, I'll take some more and put them on a seperate thread. He's about 22" and 50 + lb now starting to look like a nice sort. look forward to more updates.he's a big lad
  12. how tall they are is of no consiquence. the old rule of thumb ' spannable by an average pair of hands should still be aplied. their is a little lea way but its as good a guidline as you will get. beware of folk that say you cant get to big as you most certainly can.

thirty a day. mayfare and rollups would love to stop but i really struggle if i try. and tend to go off like a firework at the smallest things. catch 22
  18. i would of liked to see how a few of these smooth coated dogs would have fared around me over the last day or two. wind and rain nearly cut my smooths in half this week. a bit of snow and icy weather doesnt bother em much. but strong wind and rain. . will need to order some barber jackets for em
  19. exact reason i will never own one ive had a few small russells back in the day. and some of them where very handy. same as the bigger ones some are better than others. but even the poorer ones could get to and bolt a fox. if used right they where very handy. as for the bigger terriers. if they go to big they are nigh on useless. an earthdog that cant get. kinda defeats the purpus imo
  20. i posted a pic of a nine inch russell in old type russells. and she was from the pytchley hunt also. she worked to ground but was to light and couldnt hold them.
  21. she's one hardass bitch. snorting cockroaches. respect
