  4. he must be doing something right. he had good dogs way back in the eighties. seen a few worked in lancashire and owned a couple way back. brought one up to scotland she started well but was killed in an accident . she also started early i dont know about other folk but if i was into this type i wouldnt quible about a few pounds. good working stock is getting thin on the ground.
  5. read both threads and u h d you do come across as a bully
  6. i use a plummer for this sort of stuff. she is very usefull. and i would recomend one of these. from good working lines. of course. however these terriers do go to ground. contrary to popular opinion
  7. nice one. good to see folk. letting them go for another day
  8. the first thing is to do is a reccy. make sure that there are no open. pump holes into slatted pitts. check that there isnt an open cover at the effulent tank at the silage pit. as if a rat drops down one of these your terrier will more than likely follow. ask the farmer if there are any other unseen dangers. then let the dog do its stuff
  9. its also worth remembering that a bitch in season is more open to infection.
  10. good point that. the running dog lads are more clued up regards bitches and the effects of there seasons. there is the question of the effect a litter of pups has on a bitch.. i had a bitch a good few years ago that lost a litter after a C section. it was the following year before she settled down. to her normal style. you dont see these things discussed very often in the terrier section. could be a very interesting topic.
  11. i had a little bitch that failed twice. both times. she was coming in season. only time she let me down
  12. as long as there are no serious faults in the lines. i would stay within the line. your bitch sounds spot on. so someone has got something right. i would take size into account. to mant big terriers about. good luck
  13. if you dont like hares for eating get a dog like mine. you could course em every week and still not catch yer dinner good topic this. shows there two types of hunter one that has a little respect for the quarry and one that hasnt.
