It's a bit of a b*****d when you have to create another account terrierman to sell your dog. I saw the post you put up before you edited it after realising you hadn't logged on in the other name!!! foxhunter 4238 and terrierman are the same

mally replied to shotgunny's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Winchester SX3 mate, you won't go far wrong with one of them. Make sure you get the 31/2" you'll get some change from a grand too if you shop about. -
is that tongue and groove not upside down? It looks like it mate doesn't it. tongue should go to the top

My astra 1.7 CDTI estate came from derby auctions mate, it had done 103,000 miles when i bought it at just over 3 years old. The service history print out was under the passenger seat when i viewed it and all the history was on there including timing belt change etc. I put the history in my pocket and not many people bidded on it!!. I got it for just under 3K. It's now done 168,000 miles. Ford focus tdci estates were going for well over 4k of a simular age and mileage at the time

Yes mate, the sheds made from 3x2 and 14mm tongue and groove. The roof is insulated steel sheet. The run sections are from doghealth.co.uk. The concrete was readymix (for livestock sheds) as it has a plastisiser in it. Total cost around £1500

My Dog runs are under cover, the shed is wood but it's built on a concrete plinth. It measures 16'x 18' with 2 x 6'x4' runs and 1 x 8'x6' run. They have indoor insulated raised beds.

HELP WITH ELECTRIC FENCE !!!!
mally replied to 1888andybhoy's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
The electric fence needs to be in a complete circuit mate, I use the plastic sheep poles and have 2 wires one 7" high and one 13" high every so often i have run a wire from the top line to the bottom. Put the red crocodile clip to the fence wire , and the green to a steel pole pushed in the ground (earth). It's a good idea to buy a fence tester too, i got one off ebay for £12.00. Recharge the battery when it gets down to 4000V Make sure that you have cut all the grass etc from around the electric fence otherwise it with earth the fence and the battery won't last long at all. -
Sure is! thats my type a whippet, i dont like saying it on here cos its sure to ruffle a few feathers an get some dummys thrown about, but i cant see why folk would use sho bred whippets when there are dogs like this about Everyone has there opinion and i respect that, but how can you call me for using show bred blood when you haven't seen my dogs? At the end of the day I'm more than happy with them and that's all that matters.

I consider it a fault in all whippets Chartpolski, just like the shallow chest in racing x working lines. I did alot of research when i was looking for a suitable stud dog for Jess to produce Sagar, and a lot of folk slagged me off for using show blood. The reason i used show blood is i didn't like the look and conformation of alot of the working lines and i wanted to breed as close to the standard as possible. Some people say breed worker to worker but whats the point in that if they both have bad faults. Jess was a good worker but the stud dog i used hadn't caught a rabbit in it's life, how

One went to a pet/lure coursing home and he's done very well too and the other to a pet home. well 50% of a litter turning out good aint bad, i hope future generations are the same There's no reason why they wouldn't have made it in the field mate, they just havn't had the chance. They have excellent homes and thats all that matters, there not being past from pillar to post like alot of working dogs are. The dog that lurecoursers has done really well. 6 of the 10 pups from Vixens litter are in working homes and doing very well

I did look around for a working stud dog and had a couple i really liked but the owners wern't prepared to let me see the dogs work even though they said they were great workers!!!. So i decided on the show dog i used on a number of factors, Jess the Dam was a result of a mother to son mating bred by Mike Brown and i felt i needed to outcross from those lines. The dog i used is a very nicely put together dog. I wouldn't say it was a gamble as such as Jess the dam was a good working bitch and thankfully the 2 out of the litter of 4 have turned out to be excellent workers. I've seen 100% show br

I've a nice dog pup available mate, lovely stamp of a dog.

How can it be irrelevent if the dogs have bad feet?? like i said if folk keep breeding worker to worker without looking at the faults, the whippet will suffer in the long term. My dogs working ability is the most important to me, however i also like them to look like a whippet. There is no reason why both can't go hand in hand. Mike Brown introduced show lines into his lines years ago as he thought they would add to his line of whippets.

I've seen alot of worker to worker litters mate, and i'd be horrified if i'd bred them. It's each to there own but believe me when i say even though i used a non working stud dog to produce Vixen it hasn't effected her working ability in anyway as people on here who have seen her work will confirm. I also used a show dog over Vixen to produce 'Sagar' and he's a good grafter too. I'm not knocking your whippets at all mate, i've heard from all that have seen them, that they are top! However, it just doesnt sit well, this idea of breeding for a asthetic specification? Out of intere
