for me the stop whistle starts with the hand signal when you feed the pup command word raised hand flat palm and a food bowl in the other hand, soon as pup looks up at the food/hand walk in a bit and it should park its bum . later on combine this signal with a whistle when out with the pup just one time a session, but don't do it when feeding.I only use same whistle or command for sit- stay- stop,

Had a bit of flash back the day after watching some racing pigeons at a loft in a nearby allotment , it took me back to when I was kid and how I used to stock our loft and the hi tec gear we used .Sunday morning up early knocked on a mates door and we would get our gear together now her's the list of gear one bin lid a stick and a length of string plus a bit of bread for bait, of we would go down to the bus station prop the lid up with the stick and tie the string to it put the bread under and hide to wait for any hungry bird to wander in and take the bread one tug on the string and the lid

Had problem with kawasaki kvf so got some parts from uk and bought others from the states unlucky for me the customs chose my parcel to levy an import charge as if I don't pay enough taxes as it is. .Any way the cost of parts + postage and customs charge still left me with a part £70 cheaper than buying from kawasaki UK and that can't be right can it :hmm:Well its fixed and ready to back to work

hanging fire with planting out just hardening stuff off got some butternut squash coming on first time for these in my plot .bought some metal clothes props to put a net over and keep those pesky woodies of my young plants (also will use them for a pigeon hide poles later on ) -

dave we had a poor season numbers wise 38% but still got out and about the birds showed better in jan than they did before christmas plus we did'nt have the bunnies about on our rough days never mind always got next season to look forward to.

just finished making up ten pan feeders to place out on the rough shoot part of our land .Cleaned up and tidied the farm building and our caravan going to have to reduce the number of crows on the place and that's about it for now.Saving the branching for those who pay the deposit on time .

Is clicker training any good for working dogs in the field at distance and in windy conditions or is this just the in thing to do at the moment are people trying to fix things that ain't bust.OK I use whistle and verbal commands and I am not convinced that adding another command trigger will be a benefit to training gun dogs or other working dogs but I am prepared to be shot down by those in the know so any opinions for or against.

as a dog man you may be in the majority of posters on this site but not in the world of fieldsports. If you want to have any chance at all of your voice been heard you'v got to have the support of ALL of the rest of us .I know we failed against the ban and I don't think it will be overturned but we got to stop the anti's from nibbling away at our sport and lifestyle

never hunted with hounds shooting and gun dogs + ferreting my thing but I did go to the march/rally in support of the boys in red coats
