Saw this fella in Zamboanga,caught in a gill-net,the future didnt look rosy for him as they are eaten then the shells turned into guitars or polished and the plates used for hair-cimbs or jewellery,the eggs are for sale in Zambo market often enough,the local name is pawikan,its a hawksbill.
I was off the coast of Morocco in the med two or three months ago when I went past a turtle,about the size of a bin-lid,maybe a tad larger,I think it was a green turtle?Totally unperturbed as I passed it at about 4 or 5 knots.
