  1. Indonesia and the Philippines,both archipelago's and neither are as tourist friendly as LOS but well worth going to if you fancy getting off the beaten track

  4. I watched 5 fox at Lunchtime today in a field very close to Walton,I saw 7 in broad daylight in the same field 2 or 3 years ago,plenty around this year.

Go to asia,two and a half k will get you several months in Thailand,cambodia,vietnam and Laos.As paid pointed out dont have a plan,be fluid in your travel when over there,your going to meet people who say I found the most incredible beach/temple/village etc and your going to want to see/do it for yourself. Condoms!You meet lots of backpacking middle-class gap-year types who seem to gravitate towards you for whatever reason :kiss: I did the marco-polo silk-road when I was in my teens,had a wanderlust ever since,interesting times

Saw this fella in Zamboanga,caught in a gill-net,the future didnt look rosy for him as they are eaten then the shells turned into guitars or polished and the plates used for hair-cimbs or jewellery,the eggs are for sale in Zambo market often enough,the local name is pawikan,its a hawksbill. I was off the coast of Morocco in the med two or three months ago when I went past a turtle,about the size of a bin-lid,maybe a tad larger,I think it was a green turtle?Totally unperturbed as I passed it at about 4 or 5 knots.
  12. I did once find this in an outhouse in my garden,I climbed up on the shelving to get a better look and suddenly found everyone else had vacated the outhouse at speed leaving me alone with the snake Also had cobra,python and monitor lizards in the garden at times.

  17. Theres been a few snapping turtles spotted/captured in the UK,one was a quite large specimen Are you in Ontario Coyotehunter?
  18. Arabs were the original export slavers long before we turned up on the scene,theres still slavery in africa,its just not publicised the way it was,some countries still practice indetured bondage/slavery,you can still buy someone on the dark continent.

    Very Colourful I have seen similar ornaments carved from hardwood in Pinas,two lifesize gamecocks facing each other,werent painted however,just the natural colour of the Tugas they were carved from.
  23. Used to cook it in sections of bamboo,nowadays I just stick it in a rice-cooker,always comes up perfect,about to have some now with a Tikka Masala
