Not only dry fly mate,whatever method,theres an article online about trotting a maggot down some stretches under a float,hope we both have good sessions,theres a beat just downstream,not too far thats 200 quid a day,thats some indication as to the quality,be lucky.

No mate,you catch them you can take them home,i saw quite a number of fish on thursday and i only strolled along a short stretch.

I didnt know it was free mate till last thursday,i have fished on the test and the itchen in the past on prime beats,had very good results of big wild fish,i am going to fish in winchester a few times this year,be churlish not to really,tight lines.

Beatings at school back then were part of the curriculum,if they hadnt whacked me i would have wondered,one teacher when i was 9 or 10 backhanded me across a table and burst my nose,sent me to nitty norah the school nurse,he must have realised he had gone a bit too far as he came to my home that night to apologise,my mam and dad blamed me,years later turned out he had molested a kid in another class and mentally f****d him up in later life. Anyone availed themselves of the free trout fishing on the itchen at winchester?When i say free i dont mean clandestine nocturnal missions as some may imagine,i mean free fly fishing stretches on a sparkling chalk stream that looks as if it holds a lot of decent fish.I walked along the river in winchester the other day eating my lunch and saw several nice trout,i know its free,have any of you fished it,if so what were the results?

Anybody Make Yew Tree Bow?

I saw a few yew and ash bows this morning at an archery comp,some of the guyss were quite useful with them,but not a patch on the compound users who had more than double the extra range and a lot more accurate,but for instinct shooting stick and string primitive is the best. -
I notice these have popped up in the next street.........Often see bats at dusk in the street,hope these attract more of them.

Stihl do a little battery operated one,very quiet,not much grunt however,but it does ok for along edges etc.

I have a stihl 560 makes coleslaw of any vegetation,pop into ernest doe in esher,they have a decent stock of stihl kit.

Regrets,i've had a few but then again too few to mention,i did what i had to do and saw it through without exemption,i planned each chartered course................But i never make a f***ing song and dance about them like sinatra,its a shallow life lived without scars,we are who we are because of the bumps and knocks on our journeys,only thing i would change?Dont get caught.
