They are not indiginous to the UK. They may be pretty, like squizzers and bunnies, but there is a reason they are now going on the GL's They compete with native birds. Hence they are pests. The damage may not be noticable yet, but then look how long it took for the damage that bunnies and grey squizzers did! Best form of control is nip it in the bud, but the bud has already flowered and they now cover the country, just like the greys! They would not have been put on the new GL's if they were not causing problems would they? Phantom

Hey guy's, gal's and the others Went for an hour's bunny boppin again this evening. Feck this is addictive aint it I'm beggining to think that place is producing zombie wabbits Got there, checked my zero, first pellet went into the 8 ring Other 4 pellets all in the 10 and the bull No wind at all and it was getting very cold , bring back summer No sign of anything other than a few blackbirds hopping around (nah, not the kind that are on the GL) and the regular Robin that likes to sit and keep an eye on me from atop of a headstone. I had taken some fresh chopped lett

Hi Zak, I emailed the Archdeacon, found his email on the web. He wrote back saying that it was the responsibility of the local Vicar of that particular church. He told me he would forward my email and that the vicar would respond if she deemed fit. I didn't hold out much hope as I had no further contact, but then 3 months later I got an email from the treasurer of the local Parochial church council informing me that they had discussed my offer of pest control (because they are causing so much damage to the place). He told me that it had been put to the vote and had been passed (Only just m

As mentioned above my S200's sweet spot is 175 down to about 100 (gives about 40 good shots at 10.75ish ft/lbs) Filling to above that will not provide accurate or even consistant readings. Once into its sweet spot on the power curve they level out greatly and shot to shot consistancy is great as well. As for the bolt blowing back that can only happen as far as I am aware when the bolt is not locked down (unless there is a physical brakage in the locking mechanism). But I know from experiance that if your thumb tip is close to the end of the bolt when it does come back (with a hell

Hi Rich, I have only ever seen one or two bunnies with Myxie and both were long before I took up shooting again. I guess it must do the rounds here, but both of the ones I saw were a few years ago over near the village of Ellerker a few miles west of here. I am thinking more and more that there is RHD in this area though, I shot one last week that was very 'anorexic' and it stank like it was rotting, made me feel sick The blood spots on the liver and the kidneys of this bunny seem to support that theory as well. From what I gather an infected bunny will usually die of internal b

Hey Guy's decided I'd pop down the graveyard this evening as I had a delivery of some Shootmore today I've used Shootmore before and found its allowed me to get very close to the bunnies This evening was very blustery round here. I stuck up my zero'ing target in the secluded part of the cemy and after placing 10 shots all in the black (good going with the wind), most on top of each other and decimating the bull I was happy with my new tin of AAF's I put my jacket on and sprayed a few squirts of Shootmore on my hat, jacket and trousers and began my walk up to the hedge and headed

10 year old dies in air rifle accident.....
Phantom replied to Marksman's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I'd tend to agree with what you say there bud however I would also be wanting to prosecute the Adult responsible for that gun and the supervision of the children for neglegent homicide. How and why any 'normal' person would let a child loose with any air gun without supervision is beyond belief! I was shooting airguns at a very early age, but safety and "These are NOT toys to play with" was drilled into me from befor I ever got to handle one. Phantom -

I remember being on Customs House Quay in Falmouth one day, I had just gotten a Cod 'n' chips and a Pukka Steak 'n' Kidney Pie for my dinner I looked right and down at a seal in the water, felt the flap of a wing on my face, looked back at my grub and saw my pie (still in its foil) disapear into the air in this big feck off Gulls beak Gready black headed b@stard! Got my own back though, Twatted one with a 3 ounce lead the following day with a perfectly timed cast of my rod boy did it make a splash Phantom

BLANKED AGAIN 3 shots, 3 misses. I re-zeroed at 30 paces and put pellet up the ar$e of the other pellet using AA Fields again, come to the conclusion that those fx pellets don't perform as well in my s200 as they do in the springer. My shooting buddy came and brought me another tin of AAF's. Tell ya that RiffRaff guy, he sets foot on my permission and the place is like a graveyard oh sorry it is a graveyard . Just fecking devoid of furry fecking animals when he's about . I'm off out early to try again Still 2 bunnies soaking in the pot overnight with a fist full of s

DPM works for me along with a little improvisation with some grass/ferns etc. If you've not seen Steve Prices DVD's they are great for ideas I've used his methods of camo and ambush to good effect now. I'm now waiting for some more of Steve's "ShootMore" to arrive through my door. I've used it before and although I was a bit sceptical to start with I am now convinced it works. I had some Shootmore on my DPM and walking down a field (no gun) I got to within a few yards of two bunnies (that I hadn't seen until I nearly stood on em) and they were DOWNWIND so should have whiffed me. I
