  1. Thank you for your comments and SP's gentlemen Sorry not been around yesterday to say thanks, lack of sleep forced me to the pub (not often I do that!) with a mate for a drink. So got home at 17:00 and crashed out from 18:00 last night til' 09:40 ish today! Dealing with him made my blood boil, but kept outwardly cool and called on the same skills I used to have to use daily with irrate and rattling Drug Users and other violent patients. Mind you, with some of them if I'd have made them look like a fool in front of their friends I'd have had a knife or screwdriver in my neck! I knew he
  2. Sym, What you doing up this early?, thought I was the resident insomniac on here. Phantom
  3. I arrived at my paddock permission this evening and droped my gear on the deck, loaded my baby and then began a stalk of the side that is fenced off from Bunnyland. As I got towards Mrs G's back garden, I noticed three people walking up the footbrige over the A63. they stopped and watched me, I had gut a feeling about this as the kid and his mother continued up the bridge, the bloke seemed to have a bit of a face on and his body language (and I can read body language from a mile off according to one of my previous boss's) was very 'confrontational' as I neared Mrs G's field at the side of h

  6. 40 consistant shots sounds about right Fill to 180 then let a few go at the paper before you begin your hunt once you've put 3 to 5 in the bull, your in and ready I always used 15.9 grains as the weight of the AAF pellets (thats what it says on the tin) Glad to have been a help, now I certainly can think of a million things to do for idle hands goes like this: 1. Refil Gun 2. Pellets in pocket or pouch 3. A few at paper 4. Mooch until target spotted, 5. Load and make ready. 6. Aim 7. Fire, 8......... you get the picture lol Phantom
  7. Not so easy to do now on the MKIII's Anti-tamper and all that! Unless you have a chronograph, I wouldn't bother trying to adjust the power Fox Hunter Its way to easy to do and just the slightest slip and your gun becomes an FAC job Regarding the jammed pellets, a wooden dowl from the muzzle to either push or tap the pellets back to the breech or if you want to go down the route of removing the barrel, its not hard to do, but easier to push them back as you will have to remove your scope before taking the barrel out. 9. Yeah, I bet they popped round here while Davy was on the phone to me yesterday. It must have a distraction call while they took a few Zombies off my Cemetery permission SP from me too Phantom
  10. Hi there, A springer, I would say 25 to 30 yards (or meters if you like metric!) Phantom
  11. Hair curlers and scouring pads from the quid shop Do a search, oh bugger it I'll do it for yah http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/142970-modded-silencers/page__p__1447897__fromsearch__1#entry1447897 And Riff's original thread http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/141326-silencer-modifications/ Phantom
  12. 50 to 70 Mtrs is a fair old distance to be asking from an air rifle, especially a large slug such as a .25 cal As far as power goes if you want non FAC then 11 to 11.5 ft/llbs will allow you a nominal air gun range for a of 30 to 35 yards (I'm only just adopting meters mhyself!) Phantom
  13. SWEET :clapper: Shame I don't live down that area Phantom
  14. I don't mind shooting the pregnant doe's as all my permissions are erradication jobs; Apart from one, now its shoot what I want when ever I want What I don't like shooting is young kits But like you Stroller, we have to take the Professional attitude on clearance jobs Phantom
  15. Of course the biggest differance and some wouldsay disadvantage is the lack of choice of both guns and pellets Phantom
  16. Nice bag lads Well done Remember Gary, bigger bunnies = Easier Targets  Crimewatch?! Have you seen your avatar lately :11: Love ya really Phantom PS you do realise, you've given everyone enough ammo there to take the piss for months to come

  20. Marksman & Garfield beat me to it As you have said that you havn't been shooting too long; follow Darryl's guide above and keep practicing I shoot more paper targets at the start of a hunt than I shoot quarry through the hunt The reason for this is three-fold: It keeps my eye in Having transported the rifle, it gives me chance to check all is well with the rifle/scope combo If I find I can't shoot for toffee (if I'm having a bad day) I can go home knowing I aint wounded an animal and they will still be there for me another time. Phantom
  21. Thanks lads, Regarding the white flash on the forehead, I've seen huge amounts of kits with a white mark on the noggin, however I've also shot full grown bucks and does with the white flash on the forehead. Looks like I've learnt something new for the day already and I've only been out of bed an hour I just assumed it was a genetic thing that was passed down the line Cheers again lads Phantom
  22. Hi Chris, Yeah I get what you say I think its plain wrong that your brother got done for cruelty for trying to 'humanely and non-lethally control a pest species' I would be filing to have the conviction overturned and use the Wildlife & Countryside act and the General License's as the main reasons to have it overturned Phantom
  23. Thanks for clearing that up for me Jasp & Andy I think old Jasper is in denial (and I aint talking about Egypt either) Jasper, you really do have to accept that the THL Forum is the propper name for the FUNNY FARM  Phantom
