  1. @ Davy SPA for the tip, I knew there was an easier way than to copy & paste everyones quotes @ Shay, still looking for the best hosting to suit you as its only a small site, its harder to find. Could go the free host route for a small site, but the hosts would put up "Targeted adds", so your site would be advertising your competitors which to me is a BIG Phantom
  2. A Doves chest is not as strongly boned or muscled as a Woody's chest. At normal ranges a pellet will punch through a Doves chest but a Woody's chest is like armour plate! A pellet probably wont even get to the bone on a full grown Woody. The two woody breasts I did for my tea this evening were over an inch thick at the deepest part I've seen full grown chickens(and women) with thinner breast meat Phantom
  3. Nice going Shay Just a word of warning though! Your pics are likely to be removed by tinypic mods Everybody gets to see them as they are all made public on tinypic. I had ALL my images, including the family ones deleted by them because some of my images offended someone and they were seen as "Cruelty to animals" Phantom
  4. The late John Darling is a hunting legend as well as accomplished Author, fisherman and Sports Photographer. I admire the man greatly. He did shoot Collerd doves in the chest, but you have to remember he was an expert marksman and knew exactly where to aim to put the pellet through either the heart and lungs or to just decimate the heart. Phantom
  5. Oh yeah, I'd forgotton about Si using a dead Woody Mind you I'm glad I did forget about it, I've had Woody Madrass for my tea and the thoughts of a Necrophiliac Woody would have put me right off Phantom
  6. My pleasure Ted Olim: No way buddy; My remarks were NOT aimed at you at all They were aimed at the person who initially began to (unwittingly or not) turn this thread into a slanging match That was deffinately not you It does wind me up when people make assumptions, yes BASA were slow in service in MY case and that could be the brokers fault (BASA) or it could have been down to the insurance underwriters. I don't know why it took so long; but I was compensated for the delay in getting my insurance certificate; which given the fact my insurance was valid from the moment my
  7. I'll see if I can find my documents, cuz I'm sure thats where I read it, but there is deffinately (or was) a lint there buddy Phantom Right, off to do my HOT Woody Madras
  8. I read that BASA was run THROUGH BASC at one point (or in conjunction with BASC) however BASC are underwritten by AXA insurance where as BASA are under written by Zurich I believe (as always I am open to correction) Phantom
  9. Incidently BASC are a company and as all companies are they ARE concearned with their profit margin. Phantom
  10. Olim, this isn't a debate about our shooting, what basc do or do not do for shooters; its simply a question about general insurance cover for airgunners. The reason for my remarks are as follows: Ted asked which insurance we use and any recomendations. People then started giving their answers which is good. I gave my answer which is a simple cheaper alternative that at the time and given my financial circumstances was ideal for me. Then along comes someone to slag off a company like a total :wankerzo4:. Ted did not ask for those kind of comments did he? Whats more; I w
  11. A very nice choice in springer John. You won't regret it Phantom
  12. Well if you have money to spend and in my opinion waste then why not spend an extra 40 odd quid for an A4 piece of paper? Lets face it, may be slow service getting the documents out, but I'm covered from the second my payment is made and hey I saved a small fortune. I've only been asked about insurance once the rest of my clients dont even think about it. However I do always draw their attention to the fact that I have it. And I do everything I possibly can to make sure that I nor anyone else is ever going to make any kind of claim. I don't shoot if its not a safe shot.
  13. Yep You do it identically to how you would for the shotgun John Darling, the late great Aigun Hunting God used to just sling them out of his sack over his head in a scatter pattern at his chosen range. He would then get into his hide and knock em off as they landed He also used to use dead ones as Deeks as well and they work a treat Phantom
  14. Thanks guys Jack there is NO law that says you can not shoot a Pheasant with an Airgun other than when they are out of season. In season, and if you have permission from the owner/keeper, then you can shoot them Phantom
  15. Little ones are harder targets Well done Phantom
  16. I'm with BASA, Less than a third of the cost of BASC, but they were very slow to get it out to me When I complained about the length of time, they added an extra 3 months for free Phantom
  17. Nah, not a step backwards at all honestly, reminds you of how easy the pcp's are and how lazy you become after using a PCP And really, raises your skill level Although I rarely take my springer out now, its fantastic when I do get round to it, sharpens me up no end If your looking for a high end springer the HW's and the AA's are superb Phantom
  18. Have a read of this thread. I'm sure you will get some ideas off it, maybe make some kind of adaptor for it http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/135398-how-to-attach-your-handy-camto-your-scope/ Phantom
  19. I quite fancy the EB XVI as well. Hatsan (the manufacturers) have supposed to have changed the internals completely now to what the S16 was and they have apparently sorted all the problems out We'll find out from people if they have or not, but I'd deffinately give it a go. For a second Rifle why not go back to basics and get a springer? Phantom
  20. Watch this Si is an excellent and Inspiring Marksman Phantom
  21. Forgot to say, Upload your images to photobucket and then link to them using the IMG code that photobucket will provide you with, then there isnt an upload file limit Phantom
  22. Which factory, Ideal Standard (Bogs & Bathrooms) or Carradon Ideal (boilers)? Both are on the same street (National Avenue) next door to each other! Sounds like Duncans unfortunately being at the end of the Motorway we pay a premium for everything round here Every thing is more expensive than other cities. There is a real dump of a gun shop about 200 yards away from the one on Paragon Square. If you ever go in, you'll know what I mean, but they are a tiny touch cheaper. the people who run it must be at least 200 years old now Called Hutchinsons on Anlaby Road. Phantom
  23. Classic The aim of the game to get a round hole with 8 legs I do that to flies one hole with 6 legs
  24. Stick some more up then I'm not that frar from Blacktoft actually only 4 or 5 miles. But from here its a real pain in the ass to get there not having any transport anymore. I used to ride through Blacktoft on my hog on the way home after a stressful night's work in Goole. And during the summer when not working it was just nice to get out there, take the helmet off and just have a nice slowish cruise on the hog knowing i wouldn't see anyone for miles and miles miles. Soooo peaceful. You from there originally? Phantom Such lovely scenery out there
