    Might be worth a go.Ive been working along the edge of woodland today and out on the marshes along the edges of dykes in shorts and a T shirt.I covered myself in the Avon stuff this morning and havn't been bitten today whereas the 2 lads ive been working with have been moaning like f**k so i reckon there must be something to it.Gunna spray myself tonight before i walk the dogs as thats when they normally hammer me.

    The 1st year it happened i got bit on the side of my jaw and it ended up looking like id been smacked with a cricket bat.Twice ive been bit on my calf and the whole calf swelled so bad it felt like the skin was going to split and last year i was bit on the back of my hand on a friday and by sunday morning i couldnt bend my fingers at all where it had all swollen so much.I ended up going straight to AandE as i had red tracks moving up my forearm.Everytime its also red hot and itchy as f**k and ends up constantly weeping from where i was bitten.

    Thats a coincidence.Ive just bought 4 bottles off eBay as my workmate said its always being recommended on the carp fishing groups hes on.The advert did recommend it for a mosquito repellent.Ive also got a bottle of citronella essential oil that i pour in a small bowl and leave on my bedroom window seal.Every year i have at least one really bad reaction to a bite and end up having to take a strong course of antibiotics.

    Maybe there is a good reason that lads are using black dogs and not the other breeds.

    I could never work out why my pal kept any of that white rubbish when he had very capable black dogs from Kens breeding but for some reason he took everything Old Gouldy said as gospel.I reckon Ken could have sold him a guinea pig.

    All of my best dogs have had their fair share of spending time indoors as well as in kennels.Terriers/Lurchers/bulldogs and pp dogs.I believe the more time you can spend with your dogs the the better understanding and bond you'll have with them.

    The fella i had my first black terriers from also had white dogs direct from Gouldy out of flint.Ok all the time they could bully a fox but that was about it and right f***ing twats for fighting and a few of them would kill a pup too if they got the chance.

    There were a few others mate of that type mostly all half brothers of them 2 but them 2 probably saw the most graft and Charlie i would say produced the most workers when bred to different bitches.

    That Billy dog threw some really nervous stuff.Ive seen stuff that would roll on their backs and piss themselves if you bent down to touch them.When i went to SE's place years ago he had youngsters there peering out from under their benches like skulky ferrets.

    Seen a few Russels that were alright but every white box headed Lakey type ive witnessed have been Gassy quarrelsome c**ts that were only any good if things were going their own way.

    Thats an understatment.Ive seen whole litters of that Billy bred stuff that were nervous wrecks.Did he actually have a line then?From what i saw at his place it was just various crosses of the older Wheeler stuff.

    What lads seem to be calling wheeler dogs or wheeler types dont resemble the little family of tightly bred dogs i saw down at Dereks 15years ago or the dogs my pals had up in Yorkshire that they had from Derek.Im not sure how much of that blood they have to have in them to still be Wheeler dogs?

    I really cant see how many times this subject needs discussing on here.If someone is selling a pup and you're happy to pay the price then buy it.If you're not happy to pay the price dont pay it and wait till you can get a freebie.No need to come on here whinging and whining about it.

    To be honest they are in pretty rough condition as theyve been thereover 25years and wernt cleaned up properly before they were put away.I also have a rd200 twin in there too.I wish i knew 20/25 years ago that some of the bikes i practically gave away or scrapped would become classics and worth a tidy few quid now.

    The only way anything would have foxyxDilly is if it was taken from one of Booths bullshit pedigrees as he had something as being out of Wheelers foxy x Dilly even though they were brother and sister,Never mated together and foxy didnt belong to Derek.I got thrown of of an American Patterdale forum for saying that 2 days after they asked me to join up???

    A dog out of Foxy appeared a couple of gens in on the early stuff and then another foxy son appeared in the Charlie dog.Dilly never appeared in any of it.

    The very first black terriers i witnessed would have been around 88 when i was 13/14 years old.A few of the older lads on my estate had them and they were little smooth bull headed black or red things and were out of a poweful black bully dog from the next town called Digger.Some were by Digger to various crossbred bitches and the nicer ones were Digger to his own daughters and the lads all called them Nuttals.Years later a couple of the lads who i became mates with told me Digger was out of a black bitch that a lad called Nat had from Brian to a rough coated wheaton coloured dog called Moley

    Well for the record Tess wasnt a wheeler bitch she was just a stafford given to Derek to breed from.She wasnt bred to any of BN's dogs but was bred to a dog of his breeding and BN never ended up with anything directly out of her to mix back in with his dogs but I know for a fact that he has used a dog with a little bit of wheeler blood a lot more recently.
