  1. nice buck , i bet you pulled its legs off trying to drag that one out
  2. i have trapped whole families late in the season, but always with a call bird, if you can visit it every day , then why not have it set , put some bait around and in it and you never know , i have always said , you will not catch anything in a trap hung up in the shed
  3. he,s better with a rifle than a shotty
  4. or nail a piece of ply on the ends with a 2" hole in them
  5. Head and neck shots out to about 40yds.His average shot was around the 30yd mark That or any other tunned .177 air rifle near the legal limit of 12ft lbs will kill rabbits and hares out to 40yds through the head neck or chest as long as the shot placement is good i have always shot with a 22 air rifle until i had a go with that hw77, cracking gun , i got meself a hw 97 k in 177 a few weeks after using peggys gun
  6. that foto looks good to me , the drawing in the book is wrong, but its the trigger thats drawn wrong , the spring can be pushed up like the drawing or at a 90 degree angle like the foto
  7. woodga means a brickies line pin , not a plugging chisel, tho a plugging chisel would do the job and wouldn,t break as easy as a line pin
  8. thats the beauty of using traps on still nights, no squeeling to put the other bunnies off
  9. i was going to use the striker 170 on some fields close to me, narrow long fields, where a blitz would light the area up........ but i still havent recieved mine yet cluelight for lamping rabbits with the dog and a striker for foxing
  10. this could be your one and only chance to sleep with a molecatcher
  11. i could be someone off this site sick to death of looking at pictures of dead foxes
  12. i might just have several in my shed
  13. it must be my eyes then , cos there is no way those snares are made up like woodga,s , you should try and make your money by honest means and not live like a parasite of other peoples backs.
  14. i was just about to offer to swap some brand new sparkling fenn mk 6 ,s for the old rusty fenn rabbit traps, you just knackered my plans shitty, i,m not going to get a deal now with you spouting off about exploding markets.
  15. Price On Application ??????????????? dunno what type or make of hand, i got it given about 10 years ago , would like to guess how many rabbits have gone thru it, i have to take a back leg off big rabbits to get them in the feed hole cos the hip joints and pelvis bone are to big , i can do about 40-60 rabbits an hour depending on size , dogs love it
  16. yes , yes ,too much, yes
  17. You may lose the whole net on traditional, but you can tie a knot in it and keep going for the rest of the night. Then its a piece of piss to splice in the morning rabbithunter , you stick to traditional nets if you want to,everyone to thier own , but just for once listen to some of the lads on here that were netting before you were born, are you still useing hazel tealers on your snares ? i think not.
  18. i bet they didn,t bank on your old man having a go, good on him , make sure he,s there when you catch up with them

  21. i got a typpe ratcher pup , she,s twelve weeks old , clever as eggs
  22. christ , you lads like to make your lives hard , find a wind fall big enuff to set your trap on , a couple of bent nails thru the wire into the tree and its set, use whats at hand , fish , rabbit , dogfood ,roadkill , chicken skins , if you set in the right place , the animals will be around , you don,t need all this fancy gagetry, if i had a tree house like the set up in the picture i could be just like tarzan
  23. good tips rob , but i have to say i usually don,t bother setting up til 9am and can go on right thru the afternoon, and i don,t think crows can or do talk to each other , i have missed the first few and still had sport all day long, i prefer the pattern to be about 30 yds by 30 yds and the outside edge about 45 yards away from my hide, on windy days i have a floater at the outside edge, also found if two people are calling together it can draw crows in from quite a way off , i don,t bother picking up til i,m done or will only pickup if a crow lands way out from the pattern.
  24. looks like i,m the only one that hungers my ferrets before they are worked, in the past i have tried feeding before work and didn,t do very well , now that i don,t feed before work i get better results, i only work ferrets for half a day then change to fresh ferrets, when i,m doing a job , i cannot afford to have the customer see me ferret a warren and chance leaving rabbits in to be seen the next day, when i leave a warren i know it is empty and i reckon its cos my ferrets are working hard to kill or bolt all the rabbits.each to thier own
