  5. i don,t think it matters what they sound like to us, i have a call that is supposed to be a hare distress , it also sounds like a duck ,i had a couple of lads out one night and they started laughing when i blew it , until a fox come galloping in, on a windy night it can bring foxes in from a good distance
  6. Can't say i've felt the need i don,t know , it can get fairly exiting

  8. as i mentioned moley, social, domestic & pleasure is included (for some reason) with buisness use. im well aware of that, but you are telling lies , cos you are not running a buisness, you are employed or rather were employed, if a claim had to go thru , the insurance assesors/investigators would pick up on it straight away, which would mean you are not correctly insured , therefore you are paying for insurance that does not cover you properly, might as well spend a few more quid ,tell the truth and not have to shit yourself for being a liar, but do as you wish

up to his old tricks again , conning people out of thier hard earned, he comes on here as uk rabbit control, has bin on before as uk squirrel control ,has a couple of websites , one is trap and snare, stear clear of this c**t , he has no scruples, he has done one if this site members out of around £500 , same old shite , promises to send your goods or pay back your money , it doesn,t happen, i got mine back after 18 months and said i would leave him alone , well ian woods , if you read this , i lied , just like you did , i hope your turkey gives you the runs and your xmas tree falls over and

  14. i remember when i was 39, last year ,wait til you hit 40 , its like someone flicked a switch , aches , pains , incontinence, memory loss, weight gain and loosing patience with certain kid that think they know it all , even i don,t know everything at this ripe old age :11:
  15. i can see your point young rabbithunter, but ,theres a small but very important point i have to make about the top line, it doesn,t matter how high or how tight you think you have it , it will sag even without a rabbit in it , its called gravity , also on a proper netting night , your lines and net are going to be blown in an arc by the wind, if you have your line too high and too tight , it will bounce a good few rabbits off, its called common sense, the lower your topline the better you will tangle up the bunnies , but you will have to expect a few escapees, its quite suprising how high up a
  16. just my two penneth worth,if we havn,t got a gun we tend to lift out the terrier , place a net over the dig and stand back , once the fox is in the net , a quick tap on the top of the snout , knocks it out, then you have a good bit time to sort the job out properly, first and foremost is to do the job without any unnecessary cruelty
  17. i want to know whay you are at the back end of it ? was it still warm?or was it stuck in a bog and you took that picture before you shot it? is this animal abuse ? where can i get one?
  18. because on either end of my traditional nets i have a steel or aluminium end pin which keeps the full net taught, combine this with a setting height of about 28" and a peg every 5 yards, i very rarely find a sank top line i can see your point young rabbithunter, but ,theres a small but very important point i have to make about the top line, it doesn,t matter how high or how tight you think you have it , it will sag even without a rabbit in it , its called gravity , also on a proper netting night , your lines and net are going to be blown in an arc by the wind, if you have your line too h
  19. as for the comment about tackle tarts, just a joke, didnt men to offend anyone. Reminder to myself: must stop upsetting the more sensitve hunters on this site no offence taken , looks like you are a former tackle tart yourself :11:
  20. i suppose if you have been asked to cull roe from the area then this could be a quick method to do so, obviously your net would be set for rabbits and you would "accidently" catch the roe. But in any other case, isn't it just a waste of sport? unless of course you need food on the table i can remember someone advertizing roe nets in the shooting news, i think they were about 8 ft long and probably for putting on runs and driving the deer to them , never tried it myself i know a lad that used to have a length of old sheep netting in a wood , he would set it up across a part of the
  21. i,m still waiting for rabbithunter to tell me how he stops the topline sagging on his traditional nets
  22. setting as you go is quite a task when working on your own, most of my sets have quite a good backdrop, ie; woodland, thick hedgerow, so i have never found a problem with backpegging, except for on one or two sets i have. As mentioned, it depends on the ground you are working walking back and forth might be ok for you youngsters , but us older lads have learned to conserve energy, its quite suprising how many rabbits you feel or hear hitting a net as you set it up, if they are squatting near where you are setting up your net , as you go past they will think you havn,t seen them and r
