here f****n here and here feckin here as well.hard aint realy the word its feckin soul distroying. I would add my two pennyworth to that as well, having a contract mechanical design business, this time last year i could choose which clients i wanted to work for, based on what they were paying and how interesting i thought the work would be, those days now seem in the deep and distant past i am picking up odd bits of work here and there for a low rate that i would not have entertained even 7 or 8 years ago, now most of my clients have made redundancies amongst their permenant workfor

It is a real shame to think that there are people in our society who place such a low value on a fellow human beings life. Some people will never progress beyond the genetic make up of a Neanderthal -
So my MP claims £150,000 plus per year, whilst most of this £91,000 is in staffing costs there is still over £20,000 for a second home allowance And it is the second home allowances which really annoy me when it comes to MP's claiming expenses. Think about it when the Labour government came to power in 1997 one of the first things that they did was to put the bank of England in charge of setting interest rates, with low interest rates has come high house prices which means that anyone starting out on the road to home ownership these days is going to face a tough time of things, even tough

That sounds an awful device when misused by the ignorant, people who doubtless apply the furry factor to rabbits, but who will kill rats etc by any means possible regardless of the cruelty involved and doubtless feel fully vindicated for doing so The misuse of such 'inventions' is something that anybody who wishes to kill pests in a humaine manner could never entertain. I too am a bit of a techno luddite when it comes to setting up petitions etc but will willingly put my name down on one.

Nice fish, that one in the lower piccy looks a very nice fish for a youngster to catch on his first time out. And if he was prepared to let you catch a fish he had hooked then i reckon you have a real sportsman in the making. all the best Fin & Fur

Thats quite odd, Because the picture on the moon, is apparently a hare carrying an egg, its just on the link http://www.mikerendle.co.uk/irishhare/folklore.html Nice link, do you suppose that he is up there keeping that London bus company ? I also remember a story from the immediate post war years, superstition was still rife amongst the more isolated rural communities at the time and whilst it was considered perfectly acceptable for anyone to take a Hare with a running dog, it was not on to shoot one. Well a farmer from Norfolk was drummed off his farm and out of the village by

the Hare occupies a prominent position in English folklore, being one of the 2 symbols of oestre the godess of spring i think one of her symbols was the Hare and the other was the Egg representing fertility, this is where the easter bunny and the easter egg come from

I personally have had no problems with wandering into the local Tescos wearing hunting or fishing gear Mind you each time i am in there i usually see at least one other person wearing either riding gear or hunting/fishing clothing. I guess to a certain extend that location / demographics must play a part here, if you live within walking distance of the countryside or a riding school etc, then people will be used to seeing other people dressed such as ourselves wandering around the shops, however if the furthest that most people get to the countryside is a stroll around Hyde park then i guess

have you been penalised for hunting in some way?
fin and fur replied to JPTfellterrier's topic in General Talk
There is an upbeat ending to the tale, unfortunatley the RSPCA failed to reckon with the strong reserve of the man whom i am talking about. I saw him a few months after and he was looking very upbeat, i asked him if he had managed to get a dog from another source and he said that he had not but he had got himself a horse instead and had taken up riding Now this is a man who has health issues that he never lets get him down, he was experiencing 12 falls a week but since taking up riding his falls had (scuse the pun) fallen to 4 per week, he rode the horse twice a week and made it available to -

Peanalised for hunting ?, well someone in my fishing club was peanalised for fishing He used to take on dogs from the RSPCA and give them a really good life, you know the sort, 5 year old plus dog that nobody wants to take on. Well a year or two back his last dog dies and after a few months without a dog he decides its time to take on another dog So its off to the RSPCA who inform him in no uncertain terms that they have become aware that he fishes for a hobby, and that as such he is an unsuitable candidate for taking on a dog as the RSPCA are anti fishing. So thats a dog thats deprived of -
I often wonder at what point in history did society go so badly wrong When i was a youngster you had to show a certain degree of responsibility to your parents before contemplation of the ownership of a pet of any kind would even be entertained We have all seen the assholes wandering around town with a dog (usually a pit bull) barking at all and sundry What a life that dog must lead, doubtless caged up for the best part of the day in a small flat and prone to all manner of psycological issues as a result. Sorry for the rant, but people like this really annoy me, and whilst i generally have

Oh SwissTony how could you ? Everyone knows that Jeremy Paxman is an angling legend And personally i find it amusing when he grills some low life politician, Imagine going on his show after you have just been caught with your pants down in public, metaphorical or otherwise I bet most MP's wear flak jackets under their public purse Armanis before taking the Paxman hot seat. Nope i have to disagree with you there, Paxman is an out and out legend of the haunted fishbowl, and doubtless the housewives favourite too following the Marks & Spencers landing gear constraining underwear debacl

A good, if slightly ineviatable move from the Police given the constraints put on their already limited resources However it does worry me a bit, will we now see the so called hunt monitors stepping up their efforts a gear or two ? given that most of them are confirmed antis this could be a worrying tern of events

A nice bag of Fish he has there, hopefully he wants to go and catch more Its good to see youngsters getting involved in the sport and knowing that when we are all too old to fish that there will still be people out there giving the Trout a hard time of things

Ah the harsh reality of Labours educational budgetary reforms, they will be asking you to provide your own loo rolls before too long
-
This is a terrible reality for many racing Greyhounds at what the owners percieve to be the end of the dogs useful life And it makes no sense whatsoever, if you no longer want an animal then hand it to someone who does there are plenty out there who will either take an animal in or have it put down in a humane manner How someone can do such a cruel and wicked thing to a Dog that they have spent time training and in many cases has lined their pockets with cash is beyond human comprehension, they are not objects like cars which we scrap without thought at the end of their working life

Its doubtful a mother of two from Kenya has any idea what an iron blue looks like, but that's the reality of many fly mail companies. True enough, however it now seems that the most expensive of the 'cheap' imported flies are tied in Africa with the rest of the also rans being tied in the Far East, as i understand things tiers are sat at a bench with a card of the fly they should be tying pinned up in front of them, and as you say they have doubtless never seen the real insect
-
I would be inclined to dip my toe in the water first, if you are running your fly selling activities alongside the day job then fine, but if you are thinking of throwing in the day job to concentrate on selling flies professionally, full time (which may very well happen given the timescales involved in tying flies) then i would see what sort of market there is out there first start to sell flies as a sideline to friends club members etc, see if any local tackle shops would be interested or at least let you put a card up advertising your services, if you get orders then repeat orders and busin

Tom a lucid and factually accurate reply to an ignoramus, i can see nothing wrong with your post at all maybe thats the problem, you have settled the argument with sound logic and given them nothing to come back at you with its rather worrying when someone bans a sound post for such an implausible reason, and shows in my opinion nothing more than censorship at its worst which come to think of it really is a forte of the antis i wouldn't lose sleep over it all the best fin and fur

Wise words indeed, i so often see people who think that by buying the latest multi modulus rod and super slick flyline they can buy themselves instant success on the water in terms of casting distance, 'so and so uses this rod and hes famous, so i should be able to cast as far as he can if i buy the same rod right ?', the reality proves to be very different when the realisation dawns on them that their limited casting ability will never allow them to get the best from that pricey tip action light as a feather carbon masterpiece they have just spent their hard harned on, either that or the rod
