    Good to hear peoples views on this Ive never been a fan of ID chips for two reasons. Theres a lot of research out there that say they are cancer causing enough to stop mine getting chipped and that chips are easily removed if youve a scanner to find them. And i also believe that this is the governments way of prepping the human population for having the same chips ATB

    Yes mate it was bodger quimby plummer had a few running dogs on the yard from him Grip and burke were two of them. If i can remember right Bodger bred Grip and he in turn sired some class hare killers pre saluki era burke being one of them i owned the half brother to him real wanting type Like Whin rightly says game as anything. Heard a tale about Burke when i was last down that way Brian had a go at treating a wound on his inner thigh using maggots only they ate into the leg and he had to be PTS Burke is the dog jumping the gate with a hare in his mouth in one of his books.

    Dell your not wrong about Beauty and i believe stats line has similar ancestry his stuff i believe comes down from plummers grip bred to Anne powers knorfolk type had one of that litter myself never owned a better type ATB Boson11 you hit the nail on the head mate they did have a mean streak with strangers as much as other things grip kept the postman in his kennel for a full day when Terry Aherne had him at stud. The pups i had off him were the same personally i think it was that rage that made them what they were.

    i keep an old line of traveller bred stuff met plummer and hancock and had the craic. Plummer had good stock down from bodgers stuff but went for the blue merle type i think he missed out myself but there you go i like the old types bred for generations no weakness in them and all natural abillity hunt jump catch and carry types be good to see where this thread goes ATB

    Had a play at linebreeding and inbreeding bred two litters of lurchers father/daughter and one of bulls brother/sister all litters had a big pup in them and a runt but the lurchers were very hyperactive no bad fault but that was the case. The brother sister bull mating i did apart from the one big and one small pup they all had heart defects. After that the closest i went to keep the lurcher line was grandsire to grandaughter and uncle to niece both litters produced what i wanted with no faults if you want to keep the line you might have no choice but to go close id be prepared to risk it

    Pups sound the business a lot dont like the deerhound types but quality deerhound blood mixed with the M/E breeding will produce the goods if i was looking for an all round type id be up for one of these ATB hope they get the working homes they deserve

    A good line of whippet was the stagnight stuff done well in the field as well as the racing seen some very fast types on the land with that breeding dogs with real good mouths on them.

    Went a couple of times plenty of hares and a great laugh on the bankside lol. Only thing that did my head in was a good killing dog was not wanted as a kill only got one point how can that do any breed bred to chase any good i will never know

    Not the esiest to train but clever dogs never the less. Try using food rewards for the times when he not come sounds like hes a bit unsure as the lads has said you cant get upset with a saluki type start panicking or getting mad and the dog will pick up on it so keep calm and offer a bit of his favorite food to encourage him to come when hes having a moment ATB
