  1. Old jack was a bit of a lad was there when he bought a net full of roach off a bloke as hed caught nowt for the cameras then went and proceeded to hook em on and catch them again.
  2. Saw some real grafters during the mining strike capable of filling the van as many days or nights of the week as needed was lucky enough to run one that never was shown up could and did kill everything everywhere its suprising what hard times brings about

  4. I hate spending money on plants usually take loads of different cuttings and take self set trees and rootstocks when out walking dont do anything special for the cuttings just a good compost mix and keep it wet most things will root given time.

  6. Yep you sure can take most of them early the old boys on our lotty start as soon as they are as big as marbles im not that keen but i do like pink fir apples above all others but they are maincrop so i use them like earlies and am happy with them being small .

Its got to be worth the risk if your that far south theres earlys in the local shops from cornwall probably in poly tunnels Cant see them rotting now as the weathers on the turn for the better and the odd ones i miss always come up next year so theyve been underground all winter i dont mind trying stuff early dont cost much and if it survives your quids in atb.

  19. Perfect them buttons micky I dont know about there distribution but i do know us midlanders are mad for them. Ive picked them up the high peak and round peterborough and daventry as well as local its been a bumper year this year never seen as many big mushrooms in a long time. Seany Lepista nebularis is another name for clitocybe nebularis according to what it says mate so you werent wrong atb.

That second pics better seany mate thems um im sure mate not seen any here near nottingham end yet but this frost will get them up im sure do you know what they are called ive a sneaking suspicion they are Clitocybe nebularis an edible but need cooking well much like bluestalks. Looks the same Seany mate hard to tell from the pic with it being dark but the size and shape is bang on looks like theres mottling on the cap or is that the pic mate if its the same sort there will have been a good size ring and in leaf litter id like a pound for everytime ive thought they were blews at first glance they smell the same and they have a lilac sporeprint like blewstalks do you know what they are mate ?
  22. some good recipies there lads Dont think you will ever beat a good rabbit stew warms the cockles when youve been out and about Chasseur or white wine and cream sauce are deffo worth a go anything you can do with chicken you can do with rabbit tried variious recipies they were two of the best after rabbit pie and rabbit stew
  23. safe DD thought you would have clocked them tried more than a few books at the library and couldnt find anything for definite but they smell spot on and the only lads i know that eats them are the in the next village old boys now thats the thing with fungi theres so many different varietys i bet some arent covered in books i know of one magic variety thats not for definite and one of the best so im told i swear also theres two types of wood blewstalk one that grown speciffically in nettle beds and very easy to confuse with a very poisonous type when wet that often grows alongside.   24. Your both wrong we got played by the rich bankers and both UK and US fell for it as well as Germany but it did a fair job of thinning the human population simmilar to whats happening in the middle east now
