  6. Reloaded some rounds today, .22 hornet. When seating new primers i noticed a few were "easier than normal "when fitting into case, which is slightly concerning because i have just started a new batch of CCI primers, prior to these i used winchester. put a vernier over the primers and they seem ok only other option i can think of is over size primer pockets in some of my cases i think some have been reloaded about 10 times.. anyway do you think it is wise to use these cases another once mark them and dispose of after fireing.. any thoughts

  16. Me and my mate were out last night with the lamp, managed to get two big dog fox even with a full moon. just wondered , what time of year do you stop going after old charlie, and allow them to mate and breed i understand that that if there is a problem then the must be delt with, but there is always some compassion with us shooters
  17. seems to be a bit of a puzzle mate just for curiosity give the rifle to someone else to fire at targets, see if results are the same , could be down to shooting techneque Worth a try
  18. Hi mate , Where in south wales are you from ????

  20. Quite a few people on the site keep bringing up the cost of hornet rounds and the lack of availability This may have just cause for concern in many parts of the country but if the hornet is the best calibre for the intended use, then reloading is the answer! ( if poss ) May be a little expensive to start up ie press ect, but this will pay for itself in due course and can be used for all calibres in future years , as for the hornet / per round--- primers 3p, powder 6p heads ( 40gn v max ) 19p = total of 28p per round , if new brass is needed then remmington work out about £18 per hundr
  21. Hi Sterry, i use a .22 hornet for fox, can,t fault it stops charlie out to about 200yds no probs (which i think is max distance for night shooting ) i reload using 10.5grain of Vit N110 powder with a 40grain V max bullet gives approx 2850 ft /sec , not to be underestimated enough to stop any fox in it,s tracks.also the hornet can be moderated very well, and has no recoil to speak of, imo excellent calibre for use in areas where range is limited to 150 / 200yds if possible try before you buy
