Hi Mate. Definately a trip back to the shop, stress how dangerous this fault could be, especially to new or inexperienced shooters, ask for replacements( not from the same batch number ) :thumbdown:After a complaint like this the shop should contact their supplier and inform them of problem which they can then investigate via the batch number May be worth trying to get a few more cost free rounds from them, due to inconvenience I had a problem with some CCI rounds about a year ago, where the heads were loose in case, and also necks were splitting i did as axplained above, after all we pa -

Just been told, by someone in the trade that sportsmans guns have put in a bid to take over Litts in Newport, and at the moment things are looking quite posative also that the Dept that old litt left is now down to about £5 million( nowhere near the original rumours !!). ALSO--Midland guns are looking yo open an outlet in the Kenfig Hill area If these two bits of info are correct, then things may get easier for us shooters in this part of the world.. anyone else heard anything?????

I think that the animal rights clan have (excuse the pun ) shot themselves in the foot by bringing about the hunting ban, farmer were happy to allow the hunt to cross his ground and take out the odd fox, say 4 to 6 times a season and they thought this was good enough to keep their stock safe. Now if a farmer has a fox problem is only realistic form of control is by shooting, and i think a few outing with lamp and correct rifle will account for a lot more dead foxes than the hunt, This is the case country wide , so i would think old charlie is having a bit of a bashing these days thanks to th

Hi Mate, i use a .22K hornet for foxes and longer range rabbits, and i have to say that its a great tool for the job Most of the ground i shoot over consists of farms averaging 200 acres, so i am never too far from the farm houses or neighbouring houses, and i think a moderated hornet in these circumstances is ideal (especially at night) much better than the big boomers if i want some rabbits to eat , then i take my .22 rim and get within about 60 yds or so to get a head shot,-- i don,t think any centre fire calibre is good for pan rabbits ( my opinion ). As for foxy, a 40 grain V MAX @ 29

Thank you all for your help and information, i think from now on i will neck size only but i will use lube when doing so... Just a tag onto this thread, i stated in my original topic that i trim case length and deburr ( now after every fireing ) but is there a table of some sort, that gives averall round length ( including head ) at the moment i am setting my rounds to measure 1.78 inch total length, but i assume that my seating depth will change with differing head types?? i have also heard guys at my range talk about setting the bullet head to give a certain meaurement in front of the ri

Recently started reloading for my .22K hornet, all seems to be going well just a few points i need help with At the moment i have been full length resizing the cases, do i need to do this on every reload? or can i neck size only? i.m not sure what the difference will be in accuracy or case life any ideas please.. Also does the case have to be trimmed to length after each use?? I am using 9.8 Gns of Vit N110 powder, and a 40Gn V max head, hitting rabbits out to about 180Yds ( best to date ).. PS any other tips on reloading hornet most welcome... Thanks

Hi mate . i have a 452 silo and have shot all different brands of ammo through it, and after many field trials i have found that in sub-sonic Eley & Winchester are neck and neck, but Eley seem to be more redily available so i go for these. In High Velosity, for me there is only one that stands out from others ( if you can get them ) and that is "winchester lazer hollow point"-They are 37.5 grain, copper coated, so are well up on velosity, very accurate in the silo and they deliver quite a smack even at 100yds Worth a try If you want a cheaper sub round Magtek will do the job but not q

Yes i agree with you SS.. it is very unfortunate that litts have ceased trading, whatever individuals thought of the service received the fact remains that another good shooting supply outlet has gone and we are not overly blessed with them in this area, i,m sure many people will experience difficulty in buying a wide range of shooting product due to their demise--- From a local point of view , lets hope it may re-open soon if someone else can take over...
