same here, my bitch is fine with dummys just not the real thing. she usually just stands over it and then mouthes or licks it. she has even gone past me before to mouth and lick the rabbit allthough i have a few decent retreives in her short working career so far just wish she would be more consistant with them ive tried running away which used to work without fail, now it doesnt! ive tried walking away, open armed lots of encouragement, even rolling on the floor making stupid noises but all the wants to do is mouth that feckin rabbit, any ideas Kat?? cheers,

well CW, im not suprised you lost it, look how well its cammo'd there. what you need is a Fudgey Pink probe

havnt tried the 10z but the 4z are shite, get tangled on grass the 6z if there owt like the 6z longnet there not much better and would be even worse doing woodland burys. for me its either hemp or spun nylon. ive been knocking up a few spun nylon recently and they fold down smaller than hemp plus i wont need to hang them out to dry when i come in. ive allso coated a couple of hemp nets in wood preserver after hearing about this a while ago, will see what there like soon but they are bulkyer folded than the spun nylon ones. if it works for you though why change?

stick at it mate you'll soon get there. way i see it anyway you may aswell miss than wound it so it dies in pain and you cant eat it. at least if you miss it'll be there another day. your local gun shop should have a chrono that you could run the rifle over it. no probs mate, if you were closer you'd be more than welcome to use my chrono and come for a walk if you like but i think scotland is a bit far to travel dont you. good shooting mate maty.

get a pump MC. paid 65 quid for mine s/h off air gun bbs about 2 maybe 3 yrs ago now and paid nothing out on it as of yet. watch it go tits up tomorrow now divers bottle is more cash, more to fill, more hastle, and you need it tested every 5 or 6 years i think if you prove its for land use only. try airgun bbs mate or ebay.

thats your problem mate, were your hitting them. sounds like you need to do some paper punching before giving your local pigeon population lead poisoning! practise over the varying distances and learn how much the pellet drops. start thinking about the distance then put the two together and you'll be onto a winner. i know you sometimes get flyers in the pellets but aiming for the head makes it much easyer.....its eaither kill or miss, not usually an inbetween. it occaisionally happens but not often once you know your ranges, gun trajectory and your capabliities (sp). is there a club by y

the rams reduce recoil and are supose to be less noisy. theoben sell the rams for about 50-60 quid. it will give you the same power as a spring mind. your local gun shop should be able to fit and order one in for you or you couls do it yourself providing you know what your doing as it could easily be taken over the legal limit without you having a fac. wer are you aiming on these pigeons?? or better still hitting them??

havnt watched the other 2 yet, despite having them for a fair while now. but the first one is very good imo. some good action and some decent dogs that clearly know what there doing. mainly ferreting from what i remember and dont think theres any lamping but dont quote me. all in all a good dvd. maty.

Lurchers catching Pheasants and Feather?
maty j replied to cúagusgiorraí's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
are we talking poults or adults my bitch has had a few obviosly they were all in season and adults  she's been creal close to a few more adults aswell. tends to just jump around in the long grass when she picks up a scent and when she sees a bit of meovement or finds were they are she races over and jumps up snatching them. a few have been just about to take off aswell or a few feet off the ground. wish she was as good at retreiving as she is hunting up there seems to be a few around now aswell compared to last year. just been out now and saw about half dozen plus of poults with about -
they usually are H&J, best to look in the country maids when they do the issue were they everything is and whats going there.

hazel wont allow the grommits to slide up and down etc and thats if the grommits will fit snug. could do millet, ive often noticed these strange things grwing out the ground. theres usually a few, strange foliage, could have them and the GK could allways plant some more i doubt if he would be any happy though so, looking for some propper ones first. arnt they a bit fat? the poles im talking about! cheers, maty.
-
any one got any longnet fibreglass poles they dont want any more? going on a 50yd net. must have the grommits with them. not too bothered if the points faiding or whatever. must be cheap. just the poles really but if its set up on a net and cheap enough.... PS: im not interested in buying from a shop, cant jutsify paying nearly 4 quid for a bit of fibreglass with 2 bits of rubber. pm me with whatever youve got. cheers, maty.

terrible ditch, especially after the length of time i had them plus the price! your guess is as good as mine regarding the lined and backed issue, try stabs. he seems to knows a thing or two about boots. i was looking at some elk tackers after they came highly recomended. over here there set out at around 110 quid were as importing them would only cost me and he would even gift wrap them. patsboot barn on ebay if your interested. they look quite good, goretex and leather. i was going to order them but would of had to wait what, a couple of weeks at the least. plus if there knocking them out f

got to agree there ditch, however the chameaus were goretex, fully lined as far as im aware but the glue went a bit between the rubber upper and leather. a small hole and i would of thought with the goretex lining it would of still been waterproof yet water still got in these lowas have Cambrelle®, giving a tough wear resistant lining, coupled with a Gore-Tex® backing for outstanding comfort and waterproofness amoungst everything else. im hoping that these boots will do just that, form an all enveloping inner membrane and being leather will have all the benefits. cant say what the other

thanks Al. ive got a big block of saddle soap here but i found it softens the leather a bit so ill have to see. did you find dubbin rotted the stiching when you used it?? just something ive heard many a time and wondering if it is true. cheers ditch. with regards leather ditch what are the alternatives? canvas? suade? on another pair of boots i had they were mostly leather with canvas side pannels. the leather bit was lovely and waterproof but once the water got onto the side pannels for a few minutes it would soak through and you could feel it coming it. plus the strength and support leat

after my chameaus going so soon ive just ordered some combats. was planning to wait till i had my refund but cant be doing with wet feet and brambled anckles from walking in trainers. sooooo i want to get the most out of the boots whats best to keep the leather in good condition, waterproof with the goretex?? anyone tried the lowa products? active cream, water stop etc?? TIA, maty.

cheers JD, for the price im not expecting it to be the best macro. the 150-500 looks good but a bit difficult with having to shoot off the pod. soory for highjacking your thread Derek.Snr. what do you make of the 70-300 IS. im after a new lense like a 70-300. so far its between the 100-300 usm - suposed to be a good lense with fast AF speeds. the 70-300 IS - would you say it was worth the extra money for the IS, whats the AF like?? 75-300 IS - dont know what difference is optics wise between this and the previous mentioned apart from having less zoom range. or the sigma one JD was on about

This what you mean Ricky?

by no means am i an experianced mole trapper, far from it but i prefer the scissor type as i find it easyer to check however the dufus pokes the soil up slightly when its gone off but you need to look closer than you do with the scissor trap and its even harder if the tunnel is deeper. however ive had moles that would just be trigering the scisor trap or filling it with dirt. theres no doubt a reason for this but i havnt got a clue so just swapped the scissor type with the half barrel and usually catch them. so i havnt voted as i recon it would be best to use both when the need arrises just m

whats the AF and macro like on it then JD?? looking to get a new lense like that, wouldnt mind trying a bit of macro aswell without taking 2 lenses out. but its main use is action pics of the dogs etc so has to be fast AF. using the MK2 75-300 USM atm but its a bit slow i found. cheers, maty.
