  1. there like that on my usual haunt except there getting a bit thin on the ground. sent you a PM Fezz.
  2. sounds like round here Fezz, were abouts was it? PM me if you prefer mate....im in the same area. i had a look out even looked at some new fields that were less than ideal running ground..on our summer walks this place was heaving but not now. everything was very lamp shy or there was nothing there to run. still managed 2 runs and 2 catches. good going and it beats coming home empty handed.
  3. think he means the thread.... *To advertise on this section you must be a donator as of 10-01-2008. says it in big red writing at the top of this section..
  4. i needed a few bigger nets so thought id get one knocked up and see what there like. the standared purse nets work just fine for me and very few get out once in as theres usually a dog behind them or me jumping on them! plus the ringed purse nets fold up smaller allowing me to carry more than if they were the brouse type. i made them myself.... atb,
  5. isnt mp4 a video format kay?
  6. the proper brouse nets have two sliders, two lengths of drawcord tied together and 2 pegs. by having 2 pegs they purse in half the time/distance of a stanared purse net of the same size... they do weight more and i find they take longet to set but thats probablymy inexperiance with this type of net...
  7. i dont know what size that is 'loader but its a magnum net and was awkward to get the knots to bite real tight so i put some chopped up inner tube bads over them. on the others i have its only about 1.5-2mm braid and i find that much better for gripping the grommits, i still use the bands over them just incase.
  8. yep only me on the policy. one of my mates recomended quinn aswell, thats why i got a quote off them but turned out nothing special. passed it a few months ago, been looking for a decent motor and only just found a decent, honest one. another mate is paying 600 quid ins for a metro and thats with directline. dont know if its just the car that its so low or what but its a real good price anyway - same situation as me, first car aswell!
  9. i found quinn expensive the quotes ive had off them. directline and kwik fit seem the cheapest last few days ive been looking. but even then kwik fit were 1.5k on a 1.2 clio, but thats fully comp. found them prices on the compare sites, money supermarket, confused etc so hopeing to get another few quid off for the pass plus course if i call them up. some of the quotes ive had have been mad!
  10. to start id use hemp if you can get a spool cheap as the first few nets wont be anything special unless your a natural. hemp is easy to make them out of as alot of nylon has a stretch (even some spun nylon) which if your not carfull will give you alot of wonky sized meshes. as for running lines, just use 2-3mm braided nylon. i get mine off ropeseller_23 or someone similar on ebay. the link to there shop has been posted on here a few times anyway. good luck,
  11. i used opinel for a while and then got a lansky sharpener after it being recomended and i never thought that such a cheap knife could go so sharp. only down side is i found myself forever sharpening it as it went blunt rather quickly and with it being the carbon steel rusted with the slightest bit of blood or water on it. i now use a buck protege like someone else on here and its great. takes a great edge and holds it whilst being a reasonable price and very light. the dimpled rubber grip is great aswell if your hands are wet or covered in blood, top knife imo.
  12. feck knows it a saying witton has come up with for muscled up looks fit does the buisness catch 3 out of 3 winter hares cause looks are everything and a digi picture paints a 1000 words :D
  13. its not that hard to follow the rules bald one but still folk arnt complying. noticed the bit about the donators, why was that brought about....try to stop the puppy pedlers and folk just coming on here to flog gear i guess.
  14. try double clicking the little sound icon on the bottom right of the screen or go to the controll panel and do it from there.
  15. tried setting them as default? mine does this every so often and just clicking default usually boots whatevers playing right up.
  16. as i said on the other boeard Jack, keep on at it CW, go to whoevers profile your not interested in - options - block user or ignore them. easy. dont think you'll manage to block every nobba on here but should make it a bit better anyway..
  17. lol, didnt even notice the floor. looks normal to me how much are they then, got the ebay item number so i can take a look??
  18. Moll that one John posted a pic of looks just like the string one you posted a pic of just made of leather. looks a nice one anyway John. were was it from or is it home made?
  19. cheers Socks. any decent books or reading material you or anyone else recomends. ive been looking at Field Guide: Dog First Aid Emergency Care for the Hunting, Working, and Outdoor Dog. anyone got/seen it? cheers,
  20. can you buy them kits over the counter or online socks? ive just got the usal stuff at home but its not much good there when your in the middle of no were.
  21. obviosly it needs 3 month or so with the berries in for the flavours to mix but tbh i dont think the whole 3 months is needed with the fruit being shaken in the bottle first, it really smashes them up and there much softer than sloes so mix up well insted of the sugar and ginhaving to help draw the juice out of the sloes. once the times over it will still need staraining over muslin as theres still alot of pulp and seeds in there. with regards how to drink it, supose its personal preferance.... all the more reason to make a few bottles and see what you like best
  22. i caught a bit of it last night, didnt seem like a bad program. i never watched the guys butchering it up but the skill of them guys, the killing and skinning was very nicely done.
  23. if its the quick set id use a clove hitch. i think is bets to use grommits, just gives the knots a bit more bite but i guess they could just be done straight onto the pole. good luck,
