    how old is the ferret...if its more than last years kits then it'll be hard to break the biting....the ferret needs confidence to be handled. so plenty of that. if you are then maybe a rethink on the ferrets you keep. maybe ask on here for a couple of adults you can start with, for hunting with this season. see how you get on.

    at 6 months of age and running hares....then your mad, you can kill a pup doing that. if it was an accident then fair enough. then last season the "pup" was out working twice a week..again your mad, you can over match her, break her confidence or teach her shiity traits, like yapping, jacking oh and yes...over compensating/overshooting.     yep same as. i had a patterdale that as a pup would annoy the shit out of the ferrets, til one bit him on the nads....total respect and fine ever since...lol

    exactly...just do the places you can get to, where you can still see the ferrets exit the holes and not make too much noise. And back to the initital post....If your not bolting, do mean your not seeing them bolt due to heavy cover. and if you are going to take a big stick and start knocking the cover back, then you "will" be digging. just wait a few days after knocking back cover.

    find the pic you want, then right click (hope you know what that means), then in the drop down menu click "open with".....and click the "paint" option. once it opens in paint, look for "Resize" and and then click on that. then reduce the percentage, do it enough to shrink (usually 30% is good) and then save as normal. hope this helps

    ok fair point...lets says the numbers weren't the only thing they were there for. as for me going out and trying the ton.....feck me i try every time i go out. sometimes i get close with 5 on thursday night...shite i know, but did my best so far with xena, getting 41 last week or so. watch this space..trouble is, the places i can go on, there just ins't enough land for my dog to run. do you still not believe they caught that many?

    those that "STILL" dont believe it unless they see it with own eyes...well you know what to do....go out and do it yourselves and then show us what you've done. me for one would love to see it, because thats the way i am. i like to hear about lads with their entrusted hounds doing great things. i've seen the pics of these big bags of rabbits and their "other" write and by the sounds of it, it wasn't the numbers they were after....it was the good weekend with like minded fellas. just so happens the numbers of rabbits were a bonus.

    how come you find it so hard to believe. we went and did 40 odd rabbits in less than 3 hours with just 2 dogs, taking it in turns. the dogs aren't that fantastic(far from it), but if the numbers are there then i can well imagine you could get those kinds of bags. And also, these lads might be fitter, there dogs could be better catch dohs, are fitter and with more experince.

And because the internet is the way it is...yes there will be doubters, jealosy and those over analysing the post. Yes maybe green rabbits, yes its ealy in the season and yes, it wasn't just one dog. But by f**k it would've been hard graft and some awesome pest control. So like Moscow says..."its boring". but maybe nessessary.

    I'm in macclesfield with an old, self built, double tier hutch you can have for nowt. Still good for ferrets, as mine only came out of it 3 days ago.
