  1. cheers mate. i've pm'd him....so hopefully he gets in touch
  2. I have a ratting job that needs doing and my mates terriers are not available. Therefore i need some help clearing some rats from chicken shed at an animal sancutary. It is in the Manchester area, terriers need to be livestock trained, whoever comes needs to show some professionalism as its paid job. You will get some pay for this, but only if it goes well and your dogs aren't running riot and cocking the job up for me. The job has to be done on Tuesday at midday. Please PM with your number and i'll give you a call to arrange and have a chat.
  3. Good going that mate. I find the customers love it when you use terriers, they get to see some action, they see physical removal, quicker and not relying on your word that the problem has gone. Wished i had more jobs like it.
  4. I've seen a couple were shite, in all ways that have been previously mentioned. cant see the point in them and i would love anyone to come up with a very good reason for having them....and when you look at them...it looks unethical. its not really a ferret is it.
  5. Dogs dont just catch rabbits. They mark, tell you whats going on underground and a great companion, but the nets do catch more in most environments. So it shouldn't be frowned upon as if its a bad thing, they should work together in harmony. Sometimes i have to do ferreting without dogs...and hate it. However ferreting without nets....i love it. Its great just for a couple of hours, light handed and letting the ferret and dog do the business.
  6. cheers Mate softee 12 sleeping bag...and the best type of compact you can get that dont break the bank. he did keep me warm as well.
  7. the neck of the feckers...have you emailled them about it? just to try and wind them up...lol
  8. i apoligise for that last remark...uncalled for now i've read your next post. ok...i'll try and help. firstly dont worry about ya lamp, you can cut the distance to the rabbit with good fieldcraft...using wind, approach. etc etc definitly dont take both dogs, especially if its causing such a problem. your dogs look well and fit, so well done on that point. Do you have anyone near you that can help you, where is yorkshire are you? Maybe taking two dogs on so soon is an error to make as well, but hey its happened so you have to work round it and live with it. It also might mean go
  9. another question that shows boredom....get yourself out there

  11. i thought who the f**k knows this place and from Derby....lol there is only one person...mmmmmm, let me think How's it going big man?
  12. my bitch xena is fine now, hit her wrist and did a nice cut to it. to be honest she is a bit of a fanny and let me carry her back to the truck, until i got back and she started running about again....little fecker. My mates dogs (jimg on here) Smokey, is a little warrior. no matter how injured he gets he'd just keep running. although the smelly litle b*****d (just been eating rabbits) did try his hardest to get in my sleeping bag....so i had to let him...lol
  13. yeah ya right how it happened. but your wrong when you say "you tend to run owt just to get a run on some,think"....your spelling not mine....lol there are rabbits a plenty, so i was not running on just anything, to get "that" run.

  16. We went for an overnight session again, early hours yesterday(saturday) morning, got there at around 1 am and started lamping. It was a really clear with some breeze due to being to high on the hills. It was so light, one that of the dogs got out the truck and shot after a rabbit. However the night was cut short for this fella as he cranked toe on a rock..shit start. Luckily we had 3 dogs..and the dogs ran really well, and xena had picked up last rabbit, when bang!!! she hit her ankle on a yet another rock. I was gutted especially how well she was doing. We finished lamping at 5 and then g
  17. lads you need to boycott this twat...i've had had in the past with his company. get him out of business and dont buy from him.
  18. it aint the hardest thing in the world to understand what im asking. let me try and simplify it cos its not a shite question as you put it. should be quite a simple one. Ive been told to give my dog easy runs while he's learning, what im asking is what sort of odds do you have to give an experienced dog to avoid disheartening it? In easy terms how many should your dog be getting out of say 10 slips? cos if you only picking squatters and piss easy runs then surely a decent experienced do will kill most of them. Do you understand what im asking now??? Obviously i know theres many variables lik
  19. lol...that German sheperd is probably better than my mutts, even with a leg missing
  20. thats a huge question that no one can accurately answer. depends on a lot points. You want to catch rabbits right? well give the dog a better chance to catch. if you do run on every thing then certain thing have to be considered. the dog - it might be a type that never gets sickens, or the type that thinks too much and wont run at all. the ground/environment - fences, hedges, tall grass...shall i go on? all these different things can make a rabbit do mistakes...thus getting caught. your approach, wind direction, distance to rabbit or hole, there are many other factors to consider b
