What? Really? When he hell did that happen? Oh and it was an accident... H

A great piece of gorse brush at the fence/hedge line their mate. Any runs coming onto the silage/hay fields? I have found a fantastic place to snare on one of my permissions, the number of rabbits is small but the location is screaming out for some wires. I will try to get some out with pics on my next early finish. This week I am starting at 2 or 3 every morning and not finishing till either 9 am or 12 noon, silly to let the foxes. badgers and crows get their fill from my hard work and extremely unfair on the bunnies. I took a rabbit today at 43 yards in the head, I couldn't have

Thanks guys, I will take another look at the rifle for more markings. I did see a mark at the base of the barrel (tiny sheild?) but I didn't have my glasses on! If I can identify the marking I will post it. Cheers all you've all been a great help so far. H

Woke up late (nice lie in) at 6.30am. At 07.00 I shot a magpie in the garden which was stealing the bread I put out for the little birdies (bless). Set up a kania in the small wood at the inlaws and forgot the piccies. Set out after wood pigeons, set up the bouncer, deeks, tree sitter thingies and waited, then waited some more. Went home bored. Mate calls up to go fly fishing, this is more like it. Caught bugger all. On the fishing trip I came across this mermaid that some kids had made up. Stopped to have a ciggy and watched a mole push up a brand new hill righ

Ash would be better I think. I know nothing about sweet chestnut, but almost any wood that is easily workable when green and seasons into a good hard peg would work. H

Stubby, the best person to ask about cage trapping rabbits is Rolfe I think. IanB has the plan though, if you can get to and fro before/after the dog walkers and kids, then snaring may well be the most productive way. I would though if I were you ask about taking the air gun. sit in the vehicle at 35 yards and pick them off as they come out. It's difficult to do anything when it involves the public or public land. Good luck though and keep us informed. H

No mate. I don't know what the legalities of that would be, as Killgerm might be sole UK distributors. I suppose TrapWorks could sell the modified ones as sort of second hand to get around the distribution angle, but that would mean an awfully big layout initially with no guarentee of sales, you would need to order a lot to make postage worth while. Much better to find a few pesties on here who might be ordering from Killgerm and ask if they could stick a couple on their order. Both Matt the Rat and Ratsnatcher have ordered some in for me in the past, and I was lucky enough to pick up on

I have speed dipped body grips Ian, I find there is still a faint odour of tar on them but the action is quicker. I have also spray painted one with enamel spray paint which has the same effect but odourless. I will stick to spray painting them from now on, less hassle, quicker, and a touch up coat is all thats needed. I might try boiling one in oak leaves or similar at some point too just to see the effect. H

Even pricier when you consider Killgerms minimum postage is £8 H

The rifle is extremely heavy. It is either a .22 or .25 cal, no markings though. H

Here are some pictures of two old air guns I have in my possession. One is a Diana model 5 DRP air pistol with leather holster and wooden stock. I know nothing about them. The other is an air rifle of the under lever type with no makers mark. There is however a number on the base of the barrel near the stock the number is S2853 Any one know anything about them or their value? Sorry about the pics I only had the phone with me when I took them. Thanks H

No he's not unfortunately, You cannot sell snares or anything else which goes against ebays wildlife policies. The anti's will have your listings removed, we all have to put something like that in our listings now. H

It can vary from maker to maker, the soft 2.5mm is usually heavily galvanised though. HT is no good for tealers as its too difficult to bend. It does make reasonable hoops though but better with 3mm. H

Totally agree DW. You can see the chin bar has snapped the head back perfectly. That trap has been set in the chicken run for over a year without any loss of power to the springs because of the shims, and the funnel/chin bar guarentee a perfect strike every time. I said it when I first saw the mod and I will say it again. It is the best mod I have seen for any trap. I doubt those stoats and weasels that get caught in these (by accident) don't know what hits them. Cheers Glenn. H

Took a rat out of the stables today with another of snaremans Pro Victors. The power in the modified victor proves itself yet again. Bait was Sakarat monitoring bait. H

300mm is a lampost! 3mm high tensile would do nicely. H

The pegs remind me of some 'heeler' pegs snareman told me about... They would make great dibbers for your potatoes. H

Well done Phil. H

Unique is a good description. Good luck with those. H

A very old and good poachers tool. Although illegal as it falls under the same laws as bird lime. (Don't ask me which ones though, there are folks on here much better at sorting out the actual paragraphs etc.) An excellent tool in the olden days for taking all corvids and as I said, used by poachers for pheasants etc. I even bought in several of those rolled fly papers to try until I found out you can't use them... Oh well. H

My new Kanias - well one of them. A new coat of tartan camo and they are ready to go. A donation to the squirrel wars by a good man. H

Yes but not until he's sent some down here first! H

One of these days I might give the duffus the trial it deserves. I only have three that I bought from the flatpack co, but because I have good success with the Talpex they are still in a bucket of earth! Strange thing today. There are three new mole hills right in the middle of a two acre paddock, but no hills leading into it. Of course this could happen a lot, I just maybe never noticed. Fenced off now with a talpex in place. H

Not too shabby an article H

Haven't tried chalkwarrens talpex types yet, still waiting for a freebie Ian, how do they compare with the talpex? They look as though they might be easier to set with those extra handles on. I know Chalkwarren swears by them. H
