  3. check out holdayways banner for traps then you know what your getting hey holdaways just checked out you rat snareing with springers i used this method as a young trainee keeper what a great art to learn maybe other people should try this absoloutly brilliant It is a great method to use yes. All you need to know on the subject is pinned at the top, the best snarers have written plenty on the subject, hiow to do it, where to do it, etc, snaremans articles are especially informative. H
  4. For your mum? Appears to be yet another salesman that knows about as much about what they sale as the man in the moon! and he knows f**k all So I guess you don't know where I can get a copy then?
  5. Does any body know where I can get a copy of jeff nichols video on mole control? It's not for me it's for my mum bless her. H
  6. Aaron have you read the pinned topics at the top of this section by snareman? Well worth a read, it will help you to identify which beats to snare on and which to avoid. Also you made it sound as though the snare noose was quite small, I might be wrong of course. The noose should be a pear shape of 5 1/2 inches high and 7 1/2 inches wide. Good hunting. H
  7. Excellent result John, I too have bought duffus types from flatpack, they are very good traps. Fish is right, from now on you will look at every field and paddock and think - I'd love to set some in there... All the best H
  8. A bit of a misleading description really. Mk4 Fens for sale @ £3.99 and then in the small print it says fen 'type'. IanB is right, if you get caught using any of it your up the kybosh. H
  9. When the Black Death swept europe it killed over 900,00, that was 3/4 of the population at the time, it was carried by the black rat and transmitted by their fleas. Most people actually died of the pneumonic plague, as it became airborne in a similar manner to flu. As for the germ warfare, a lot of countries still hold viruses in vaults even after signing a treaty that they wouldn't, and yes they will say it is for research purposes in case of an outbreak. Truth is if there was a pandemic no government could handle it, I think I read somewhere that America has only 7 vaccines against sma
  10. I find it difficult from that picture to tell how big the bird is. If that brown part is also the bird (underneath), then how the hell did a bird that size get in to it? I can see nothing wrong with the Fenn in a cubby, as moley says, the general public don't know a legal trap from any other, and yes accidents do happen - to us all. All we can do is ensure we comply to the rules and to our own conscience. H
  11. Well if you catch the culprit then you can ask them. Maybe they only saw two snares as they had rabbits in, they may have been out when it was dark. I can't say, it's only speculation. H
  12. Rtasnatcher. Yes you can get 'humane' live traps for moles, they consists of a type of tube with swing door i think. From what I have read on every post about them they are quite inaffective. It was the catch alive I was referribg to in my previous post. H
  13. Is it true that they can starve to death in 24 hours? If so this would make someone using a humane trap and not checking it cruel
  14. Lucky I got snaremans permission when I did then. My permission from snareman. Hi Glenn, good to meet you at the Pestech convention and enjoyed your snaring demo. If you can supply an address I would like to send you some of mine and tell me if they are 'up to scratch' I think they are but a word from you would make me happy. I would also like to send you a Pro Victor with a metal chin bar, as I know you can't afford Stainless steel up there in Haggis Land The other thing is this, I sell some snares and tealers from my site and would like to sell the breakaway sna
  15. Too late I fear. It seems some of us can't put up a post or ask a question without being jumped all over. Shame, good forum otherwise.
