Hi I've been asked to look at a job in East Devon (Nr Exeter) to reduce rabbit numbers, I have no idea as to suitability for firearms / shotguns etc, it may require some trapping / ferreting as well?? does anybody with some experience of bunnies want to look at this??

I've had an enquiry from a guy in East Devon (not far from Exeter) to control his Rabbits, buts its too far far for me to check the traps, so I have not got back to him yet, anybody in that area able to take this on?? I mean no disrespect but i would much rather somebody with experience dealt with it, even if you want to do it unpaid.

I've just got some Fenn Mk6's from John B, good traps, good price and damn good service... recommend you talk to him as the price will depend on how many you buy....

Back to the original question.... for snares speak to Woodga (look him up in the members list and PM him) genuinely nice guy to deal with and top quality snares, also worth asking him about his snaring DVD... I've been delighted with both his proucts and his service, can't recommend him highly enough... he does talk with a strange accent though..........................

As with most things its seems the best killing method is the one that works best for you, and reduces the suffering of the animal... whatever anyone may think of the guy, his passion and commitment cannot be faulted and if his numbers add up he seems to be doing a good job. I for one will try and donate something to the cause. my ferrets are as dosile as anything, merely used the mustard once or twice and soon got the message, im not taking away from the fact that handling is the best way to climatise ferrets to yourself, its a case of prevention rather than cure. i agree nose flicking would only make things worse and i've seen people's whos ferrets are scared to get picked up, making it time consuming and annoying when they wanted to get the ferret out, they just darted back down when they saw them.
