Ive got 5 jills and they are all pregnant. Does that make me a bad person because i will have alot of kits? I think not because all my ferrets are kept clean and healthy and they are given a large area to run and exercise in with plenty of tubes and logs etc to climb and explore. Please do not tar everyone with the same brush because of a bad experience!!

Some ferrets use it to line their nests but some dont it can also be a sign of stress because she is not used to being on her own but its more likely to be the pregnancy/ season hormones.You also have to realise that they are moulting out this time of year

no she just stays in her bed that she sleeps in all the time shes started to put her toys in her bed with her and her food bowl now Any time now then by the sounds of it

She should give birth between 40 - 42 days she will become quiet and go off her food a little just before she is due she may also become alot more affectionate towards you. Has she made a nest yet?????

I wouldnt feed her the lactol mate because it will give her the squits just feed her as normal and when the kits are out and about start feeding them liquidised meat and if you feel the need some kitten milk.... Good luck with them the fun starts now

The results of both xray and blood test came back inconclusive ? at first the vet said it may be diabetes but it was,nt so he put it down to an infection ? If it was an infection there is a good chance your other ferret might have caught it. I would seek a second opinion mate just to be on he safe side are the symptoms similar to the other ones???

Yes holey the swelling will go down once the hob has mated normally it is the sign she is pregnant but its not a guarantee. Gestation is about 40 - 45 days from last mating I think im right in saying

Personally mate i would give it another couple of weeks because you dont know if he is over his illness. I have found that ferrets except "strangers" quite well there may be a lot of noise but normally they are quite hospitable. Do you know what the other hob died from?

Ive got a selection of all types but prefer to use hemp. I find it lays a lot better than either normal or spun nylon types

I wait until the jills genitalia start to shrink down then i remove the hob knowing that the job has been done. I find that if i leave the hob in for too long he keeps trying to mate with the jills and makes them very sore around their scruff.

I havent a clue mate shes my better halfs dog really all i know is she came from slough and she like to come out bushing for me (thats the dog not the wife)

Tuesday Morning my staffy bitch went into labour and by 10pm she still hadn't given birth so a quick chat to the vet and we were off to the vets where she had an emergency cesarean unfortunately one was still born but we came home with 5 smashing looking pups. Today we lost the runt of the litter to reasons unknown so we now have 4 little ones to look after

This will open a can of worms but I find that mine dont touch meat because i feed them just dry food athough I do let them have the skins. If you want them to go on to meat leave them with it for a couple of days they will soon start eating when they get hungry and in this weather they meat wont go off as quick
