Not a greyhound fox,but an unusual one all the same, was taken in an area where similar foxes have been taken, this pic is off an old tread, was chatting to member through pm who got the fox and it turns out similar fox was taken in same area, was also informed of a similar one picked up of the road as road kill close by
  3. Low point this season was without doubt loosing my good bitch after a sticky dig that went on a lot longer than it should have, but that's a another story, she put in an 8 hour shift but it took its toll, high point was her son stepping up to the plate, being low on dogs he got the bulk of the work this season, usually being dug couple times in the same day,as a necessity Old bitch with her son
  4. Out and out sounders are no good for quarry that's clued in,I had one here couple years back, had 56 digs over him towards the end of his second season, some very good digs in big places, but got caught one day and was never the same after,he made sure it was never goin to happen again and start letting stuff past."there's nothing wrong with a hard terrier but I've buried a few tat were too hard for there own good, some handle themselves better than others
  5. Dogs can certainly be too hard for certain jobs so I can see what he did. Of course for other folk those dogs would be the dog to get, horses for courses or so they say. I always remember an old friend and mentor saying 'how can a dog be too hard?if he were about today I'd have said to him that Too anything is Too much,

  8. There's an unwritten rule amongst terriermen, dog always comes back to owner when parting,if it's been gifted,if money has changed hands then that rule goes out the window
  9. ive only ever opened it up the once woods,to try and fix switch, with a screwdriver with the right head,I'd be confident I could transfer the circuit board from one to the other,
  10. 12. I know there not bench pressing them but any dog can bark all day, fit or not,
  13. Have you ever seen a dog fail to complete a dig because they've not had enough gas in the tank?
  14. Giving a dog plenty of work will keep him on his toes, but what about the ones that can only be dug every 2-3 weeks sometimes longer, something's got to fill the gap or your going to end up with a soft dog that is blown out quickly, especially if his work style is that that warrants a couple weeks off between digs,
  15. Get your pen at the ready, there will be someone along shortly with a full list of names and addresses
  16. Hopefully he's missed it through lack of experience ,and not the fact he's not liked the look of what's down there, either way I'd be keen to get to the bottom of it before close of business, which is not far off now.its a long old summer and be nice to put him away on a positive
  17. My first wife left me because she claimed I thought more about the dogs and hunting than I did about her.I was gutted,we'd been together almost 10 seasons
  18. Well my worst nightmare was confirmed very recently,my wife was confirmed as having an allergic intolerance to the dogs,I know this isn't a rehomeing site, but if anyone could find it in there hearts to help me out I would be great full, her name is Jane and she is 43
  19. i like this one reminds of a good old bitch i gave to my cousin very fond of this bitch also,if I'm honest my heart is in my mouth every time I drop her, she's not as big as she looks in picture, but try tellin her that, she's old now and her best days are behind her,
  20. If you put in the leg work and the miles you will be rewarded for your efforts, game can be thin on the ground in some parts round us at times, and sometimes it means gettin back in the jeep and putting in some good miles to get to the next spot, but we usually manage to get 2-3 digs most outings, and when the season is over we still meet up and walk new land looking for new spots,up until the cover gets up,if you keep doin the same spots season after season with little or no reward you've only yourself to blame You get back what you put in
