  4. are you lot also profesional goal keepers!?! Good well made video mate, keep up the good work
  5. Id recomend reading the terms of the hunting act, and familiarising yourself with it.
  6. Hily, sorry to hear you have had to cancel days. My only issue would be that if guests have payed up and then had their day cancelled, they will likely demand a refund. However if it is syndicate members, they should understand the situation and remain loyal to the shoot... and in my opinion, shouldnt expect a refund to be given.
  7. PM sent Have you got a pic of Boozer from the deep dig on your phone?
  8. Polecats are solitary at this time of year. They rarely have fixed patterns to their movements, so reliably capturing one on film would be tricky. A chance encounter would be more likely in well rabbited areas, near rough ground, hill ground, woodland etc. Perhaps using night vision would help, as they are mainly noctournal. Im not in wales, but I know a couple of farms near me that have been frequented by them recently, searching for rats among the bales, so perhaps you may get lucky in this harsh weather?
  9. i dont think there is a right and wrong answer... if you are mainly shooting from a peg or hide, you wouldnt want a dog running round flushing game... instead you would want a dog to sit patiently and retrieve wounded or dead birds as reqiuired. If you are beating or walking up game, you will need a dog to find and flush etc etc I expect all of the above from my spaniels, and more!!! My spaniels are first brought up as gundogs, and then branch out into other areas of fieldsports. I take them ratting, and this doesnt make them hard mouthed when retrieving game. I also take them stalki
  10. More happy keepers. Looking forward to this weeks pest control now.
  11. Nice pics mate, good shooting Id love an AR15 .223 one day! Happy hunting DnN
  12. yes... they eat bark when theres snow down. Ive been controlling them this week for damaging hedgrow trees, mainly young ash.
  13. Like 750 said, ive found the deer and hares tight under cover, making the most of brambles and other browse. Rabbits are causing some massive damage to young trees through bark stripping, especially young ash trees. Foxes seem to be doing well, as usual, and the ones we have shot and caught this week have been in fine condition. Iv found a dead song thrush yesterday, wasted away, and also a dying redwing very thin. But luckily for many birds there was a large field of barley near mine that didnt get harvested and has attracted thousands of yellowhammers, linnets, redpolls, bramblings, fin
  14. Top pictures Coyotehunter.... Do you have any experience using the garmin gps tracking collars?
  15. You can buy white poults for about 8 to 10 quid.... The melanistic that dotty is on about are same price as a more usual strain of phesie, about £3 - 4.00 Shoots often have a bounty on the exotics, such as golden pheasant, lady amerherst, reeves or white pheasant, and also guinea fowl and wild turkey.
  16. Ive been after a couple of small jills for a good while, as I keep my own strain of ferrets which are good rabbiters, but they get stuck too much in the rat warrens, and I do a lot of ratting with the ferrets. If anyone has a good small strain and will have a couple of spare kits later this year, please let me know.... im not interested in the folk that have them purely as a novelty item, or want silly money. I just want a couple of small working ferrets for ratting with.
  17. fox snaring works well. Just watch for the snares getting frozen shut though, so go round before dark and loosen them up. Ware rubber gloves/wellies, so you dont leave scent about the place(with fox snaring anyway). Like i said the only bother is them freezing up. With fox snaring on the fells, the tracks can be built up with snow to guide the fox through better, saves lots of time looking for a spot with taller cover or brashing in. Personally id only bother with fence snaring with the bunnies, but im not that experienced or confident in the pegged snares to try in the snow, as I would
  18. Cracking Pics Goldfinch As far as I know there are 6 or more hunts in Staffordshire il PM you the details
  19. Fox cage traps are perfectly legal, if made to british standards and set with permision for fox control. The captured fox should be shot humanely when inspected, no need for feed and water as its not being kept as a pet is it!
  20. I always fed any spare eggs to the dogs and ferrets, great source of vitamins, and protien, an excellent addition to the diet. Nothing at all bad about eggs. But id never feed a dog anything before exercise or work, no point if dogs are fit and are fed daily after work.
  21. They sound like major pests over there, and good hunting too. Do you dig many?
  22. Ive never personally come accross anyone using collie/hound before, most of the crosses ive used and seen, have been terrier or spaniel cross hound, or a mix of these breeds. I know a lad who hunts a collie/spaniel for all quarry and its a decent busher and gundog. Any chance of any pics of the dogs? Cheers
  23. Good stuff Bowderdale And a great stamp of a cross-bred there
  24. Nice pack you have there How long does your hunting season last, and how many days per week do you hunt them?
