  1. Looks like pure released/escaped/feral boar mate Now get wrestling with it to get it in the freezer
  2. To be honest his daughter taking over may well be a good thing as at the end of the day the bloke is 75 years old and a new start may well be the best thing :thumbs-up:
  3. Hancock has had a new kennel block for his studs built in recent years and has very recently completely renovated his whelping/ rearing sheds
  4. I`ve had 3 Hancock dogs over the last 13 years and had no problems with any of them none of them have been world beaters but then again none of them have been useless either, I have had other types in the past and know doubt will in the future but if a dog does as you ask what does it matter, and yes I have obviously had people telling me my dogs are no good even without seeing them because they are Hancock bred but at the end of the day I got the dogs for my enjoyment not theirs so it` water off a ducks back I`m afraid Hancock bred 3/8 5/8 aged 91/2 with a rabbit she caught today
  5. A herdsman for a small pedigree dairy herd
  6. The price of graders is right down at the minute and you can very easily pick a young average grade dog up for £500 or less and most trainers are about £5 a day + any costs incurred. If you are training yourself you are best to contact whichever track/tracks you are wanting to run at and find out from them the trial days and suchlike and make sure that if you get a dog then you are going to get enough races to make it worthwhile , as from what I have heard from people in Eire is that the smaller trainers are struggling to get runs and the tracks are using more of the large kennel dogs to fi

  12. There are a lot about mate and the time to buy is now as the market is very depressed at the minute Top Honcho is about the most popular but it does very much depend on track/distance you are looking at racing it over Ian greaves has some very special pups by all accounts sired by Crash but they will be serious money If you are just after a cheap grader then let me know what you are looking for as I may know where there are a couple of young bitches going very cheap
  13. It`s the wiring in the handle that comes loose,Either re-solder the wires or add new connectors, Mine runs direct to a 17ah dry battery with no fuse and I have had no problems with the bulb blowing
  14. I agree to a certain degree But a show is to judge the conformation of a dog and not it`s working ability the judge should be looking for a dog that in his/her opinion has the physical attributes that would allow it to do the work asked of it if needed to , you can not judge how much bottle or heart a dog has just by walking it around a show ring , but you can judge condition and health of a dog by handling it and watching for correct movement and so on  I don`t show but can understand people wanting something else to do with their dogs during the off season :thumbs-up:
  15. For last Christmas I got my Mother one of the "gift experience " thingys I got her a feeding the Meerkats as she is always watching them on the googlebox seems like a good thread to put some pics up A couple more
  16. The only problem with a Marathon Greyhound I would foresee is that they can be very one paced and not have the gears when they are needed and bear in mind even a Marathon racer will probably only race for less than one minute and be knackered , As has already been said a puppy brought up as you would bring up a lurcher would probably be a far better proposition especially if the pup was from a line of marathon dogs which are generally a bit smaller and lighter framed than sprint/standard distance dogs
  17. A great tragedy just hope people take it as a warning and make sure what ever heating they use in kennels are well serviced and not faulty in any way
  18. Totally agree mate, at the end of the day a genuine dog man will let other genuine dog men have a pup at a price just enough to cover costs or free of charge to prove the breeding :thumbs-up:
  19. Try here they are the cheapest I have ever come across and very good quality cages Dog Cages
  20. i agree, i got a greyhound because i wanted to breed my bitch to him... certainly not for money!! he will have a home for life and he seems to be very happy!!! if i went to these people to ask for a greyhound would they refuse me one if i told them my intentions??? They would also of cut his knackers off as well so not much use as a stud :11: Cadders Pm me what you are looking for and I will have an ask about for you as long as it has got a home for life :thumbs-up:
  21. Not to put you off or anything it is just that I saw a litter of first x IT GREYS advertised earlier this year on a few sites and they were still being advertised when they were 5 months old so before you breed make sure you can find homes for all the pups :thumbs-up: as it is an expensive game rearing pups that you eventually have to give away
  22. Very Nice FD If anyone is looking for a retired greyhound give the chap on the website in my signature a ring and tell him what you are looking for

    Greyhound roots

I didn`t think G-D put the tats of the irish bred dogs until they had raced NGRC or an owner or breeder put them up themselves if the dog has only been flapped since coming from Ireland they will not be on there best thing is get in touch with the Irish Coursing Club give them the tats and they will tell you the breeding I would imagine.
