  1. The black and white bitch is a 3/8 5/8 who has never really been worked much on the lamp but was a good daytime dog in her time finding and catching her own rabbits, the Merle is a half cross beardie/border grey and was good lamper but a bit big no world beater but would pick up bunnies and take the occasional fox if one got in the beam, the brindle bitch is also a 3/8 5/8 and is just learning the game but she is ahowing promise but a shortage of game in my area at the minute is making entering her properly hard work tbh and the black and white is the same bitch as other photo but 7 years olde
  2. looks like it will be a good dog on them ginger rabbits by the build of it Dog looks in good nick mate :thumbs-up:
  3. The pups look absolute belters and are a credit to you Tina Hope you find homes for them all soon :thumbs-up:
  4. The Sire is a stunner how tall is he?? looks a big fella
  5. Nice looking bitch and looks like she is doing the job as well
  6. I totally agree, but why breed to a weakness when there are dogs available without it ?? If I was personally looking for a bitch to breed I would be looking for one that had , had a good number of races without picking up any injuries and would also probably look for one that had been performing oner 6 or 8 bends as a preference, they are available it might just not be the first one you get offered :thumbs-up:
  7. Obviously that is a completely different thing entirely, the point I was trying to make is that if the dog has injuries to feet and legs through running round a nicely prepared surface of sand what chance have the pups when running over uneven fields filled with stones flints and potholes JMO
  8. I think the most important thing to me would probably be why a greyhound bitch had been retired, because if it had been due to foot or wrist injuries I would be very dubious about breeding working lurchers from her just my opinion
  9. A lot of track greyhound rearers "hunt" their saplings weekly or so just to make them keen before there trials so if you can find a dog from a rearer that does this you can be pretty certain that they have been hunted and not all coursing dogs have a good mouth on them infact I would go as far as to say that some coursing dogs have never caught a hare , Irish park coursing dogs are muzzled whilst coursing so you can be pretty sure not many of them catch a hare during the season Oldskool I agree mate that there is very little point in going to the champion greyhounds for a service to a lur
  10. Hope everything sorts itself out for you mate glad to hear the bitch is okay now
  11. We bought her out of Ron Houghs` kennel a couple of months ago but she broke in season a few days after so will be making a return to the track soon but will hopefully only be running Open marathons from now on , we have not even bothered to grade her on at Monmore which is the track our trainer is attached to i heard that said before,,,, i wonder is there any truth in that and how it could be that a track grey would make a better fox dog that a coursing grey???? are coursin greys not often used on the track too and vice versa???? Coursing dogs are generally to big
  12. A pic of my "Smooth Rumble" bitch, Sandrock Dream racing weight 26.5 kilos
  13. If I was looking for a bitch to breed lurchers from I would look for a daughter of Smooth Rumble normally a nice size and full of stamina although can lack a bit of early but if you looked for one that had been running 4 bends as well as 6 or 8 bends the you should be alright IMO

    Bull X

Completely agree some greyhounds are right manny b*****ds so you can easily double up on this trait if you don`t know the bitch well , same as a lot of greyhounds are bad around other dogs especially non sighthounds , some greyhound studs throw a lot of fighters that never make the track so if you are offered an unraced bitch it could well be the reason is it is a bad fighter so make sure you look at both sides of the breeding not just the sires
  15. Nice dog was he sired by Hector ? If so I saw the litter when they were about three weeks old and they were a lovely even litter mainly collie marked and brindle I think
  16. If it is flapping you are interested in then try visiting this site http://flappersdream.**"£$%^&*(70.com/ and somebody on there will probably help out but be aware that the greyhound lads and lasses have an anti :realmad: problem of their own and may want a bit of info about you before they will help you, If it is NGRC you are interested in PM me any questions and I will help if I can
  17. As well as what quarry you need to take in to account the terrain you will be running the dog on IMO including field sizes
  18. What cross is she [bANNED TEXT] as collie crosses can sometimes take ages to learn to pick up. Try and find somewhere with myxy and let her run them in the day the only other thing is keep taking her out and let her find the way to do it herself, don`t` forget a 14 months she is still a puppy and still learning. good luck

  22. Alright lads the pup is Hancock bred 3/8 5/8 beardie/border greyhound by a dog called Tweedle Dum third Hancock dog I`ve had they seem to suit the type of work I do mainly bunnies with a few red`uns now and again. The greyhound will be racing soon hopefully, she has just come across from Ireland, when she retires I will probably take a litter of lurcher pups out of her then a litter of greyhounds, Chaz
