  1. Accidents happen hopefully he's just coughing his lungs up abit opening them up so to speak as he's not used to it n should go after a day or two but as said with lack of fitness and the weather be careful if it's abit more than that and be careful of acidosis Is he in any pain at all and is he lying down ok etc, keep your eye on him as it sometimes doesn't show up for a few days, has he lost any weight especially on his back and have you been getting regular electrolytes into him, hopefully it's just a temporary cough n will clear but if any signs of the former get him on a I v..
  2. Aye interestin to see how others do it they all look well anyway lads, it might surprise you then that I only give mine about 350 grams of meat the day before there ran, anymore than that n Iv found they don't run aswell, I feed more on return and when proper winter kicks in tho but still not much more before being ran but like say I bang the meat n some offal in on return..
  3. Looks well bet it can scran..She gets 3lb of meat a day and would eat more. LolBloodyel no wonder then, you must get through some meat.. 7lb of meat a day or 7 chicken carcass a day depending which they have. Lurchers get a handful of complete with the meat. Plus 6 tins of mackerel, 12 eggs, 3 racks of lamb ribs and 500ml cod liver oil per week. Dogs cost more to feed than me. Lol If i come back as a dog in my next life i want you to be my owner. Aye me to lol

  7. Feck sake hard to watch that bang out of order they should get a good stretch in y a then over to the big house, poor girl stay with her forever that n no doubt change the dynamics in a real negative way for the rest of her life, surely they can't just get a slap on wrists for that..
  8. Hope she turns up best a luck..
  9. Haven't seen it but can imagine what there all like, i saw that Dom jolly doin some travel show once can't remember what but think he was quite funny if I remember ain't seen him on out else tho n know nowt about him, that bear grills must be absolutely wadded now..
  10. My Saluki x could do with a little more weight on her. Would it be worth trying raw mixed with a premium dry like Akela? She eats around even finely shredded veg and carbs like brown rice or pasta. If I feed her more meat, she'll just bury it One of mine eats around even finely shredded veg too. So what I do is very lightly cook it with a bit of beef stock or a stock cube then blitz it in a food processor so it's completely liquidised. Sometimes I mix that puree with meat etc, but what I've started doing recently is pureeing raw liver and mixing it with that. It comes out as a very wet co

  17. The brown bitch is my marking dog, the pup (whippet x deerhound/grey) is doing ok. My point is mate I've seen and owned my share of running dogs for all game over the years and have an idea about what they can and cant do, so when I hear dogs cant run on hard ground or heat I dont understand or agree. just my opinion although Socks made a valid point.I think terrain is the thing here mate, dogs ran n worked hard on various testing terrain through the winter when it counts allows lads to see what they've got regards toughness and durability, talk of dogs that should be able to do it on sun bake
  18. Im sure there nice dogs and have a good go sirblessed but you won't get many injuries chasing rabbits around with that bull type and gsd dog will you and that collie X is only 8 month or so, so won't be doing much either will it..
  19. Nobody's saying a man has to wait for "perfect" conditions all the time to run there dogs but a good dog man won't take any unnecessary risks patience prevails also it can depend on what and were your running if the odd rabbit you'll more often than not get away with it but then I wouldn't risk one of my dogs for one or two daft rabbits il wait there's plenty of time, in aus you have no choice unless you run on peat, your dogs have had to adapt to climate and ground conditions same as the farm dogs etc that work most days but obviously there not running dogs... itscompletely different with to

My cocker has got some real heart great little dog gets better every time out and my lurchers have abit of bull blood both crackin noses aswell to good sometimes n although there very obedient they can be very full on if there's something about other than a rabbit so gota be careful n they'l go through any cover aswell , on the right places it's great but others I keep em on slip then I can choose what happens n that's were the cocker comes in handy, I'd imagine once they've learnt the craic on how you like to do things and settled down abit these cocker Bulls will be real handy..
