  1. I have a copy of the series. Is Charlie still knocking around in his retirement?
  2. Curious as to whether anyone has seen any Woodcock yet? Maybe up north?
  3. I zero mine at 65 yards. Easy inch group in favourable conditions. I've only shot a 100 yard group on a few occasions and when I first had it. Seem to recall between 1.5 to 2"?
  4. It means he agrees with your post To concur - to accord in opinion; agree No sh*t Sherlock, glad you explained that to me mate, many thanks It's all part of the service Seen as everyone seems to be discussing mod requirements, Sarcasm is an essential requirement.

  6. I have a T Bolt in .22LR. The carbine version with 16" barrel. I find it very pleasant to shoot with, the rifle is nice and light, and with the shorter barrel on the carbine even with a moderator its not overly lengthy. Accuracy is as good as any .22LR and the action is very fast compared with say a bolt action with its straight pull. If you are going to buy one, find a carbine, a 22" barrel is just too long.
  7. I think I need to One less of them to be contending with come lambing then John I seem to remember missing my chance at shooting one of those
  8. Very satisfying John Question though, Magpie or Grey Crow? Can see bits of both in there
  9. Don't believe a word of it with the councils. They have plenty of money compared to other public services. They are just utterly useless at managing where it's spent.
  10. I'll be burning wood and coal, they can rub all they like stoke it up then i might feel the heat from here I'll be burning wood and coal, they can rub all they like I'll be burning them too! Not mine you wont
  11. I'll be burning wood and coal, they can rub all they like
  12. Don't mind the snow, its the ice I don't like
  13. From reading the latest news reports. The householder was arrested for murder but is out on bail and like the others, I very much doubt anything will happen to him. Is it really in the public interest to send a home owner to prison for protecting himself against an armed trespasser? Not going to happen. The guy who's been charged is the second burglar. They have caught and charged him.
  14. Such a shame. Sounds like a thoroughly decent fellow welshman. I posted this on another thread, but it can never be played too many times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwBTnzQCrIM
  15. You're right Stubbs but what they're asking for there is whether it is a "Rifle, Shotgun, Pistol" etc rather than action type
  16. no you do not as i said if you put .22lr you can get either but if you put bolt action or semi auto then your restricted to whot you applied for. i was just going by what my fao told me . i had to put a variation in a few years ago when i changed my semi auto to a pump action.. you live and learn eh In that respect, you are applying for a one for one variation. Even if you want to buy a gun of the same calibre you need a variation on your certificate to do so. Maybe that's where the confusion came from
  17. You can quite legally load and use the third shot on the foreshore/inland water in the UK. Obviously providing you have non-toxic shot loaded
  18. An Old Welsh Miners Song, sung by former miners. http://youtu.be/VXiktmNxk8Q
  19. Here's hoping they are able to reach the other three still trapped. Very close communities up there and in a crisis as has been seen, they act like a community.
  20. No problem Davy. I'll have a look for the rest of it and PM you shortly.
  21. Particularly if you've been shot with it
  22. I have a CZ 452 Varmint in HMR and I agree with Tegater, lovely rifle to shoot with when the trigger is adjusted with the simple, inexpensive trigger kit. I have a 3-12x50 scope on mine and can't see the need for any more magnification for the majority of shooting situations. It is also equipped with a SAK moderator, again cheap and cheerful but it works. I have a .22LR Browning T-Bolt straight pull rifle which is also a pleasure to shoot with its 16" barrel and light weight. I would have a look at these also in HMR. For a decent set up with rifle, scope and moderator I woul
  23. All, I'm in the process of clearing out the mess which is my shooting store. I have come across what I believe is a MkI Meteor barrel that has been there for a good few years, don't recall what happened to the rest of it. It is free to a good home should anyone require it for a restoration or a spare. It will need some attention to it, hence the mention of a restoration. The front sight is intact, however the rear sight will need to be replaced. The locking bolt/spring also appears to be missing but other than that Like I say, most suited for someone restoring an old rif
  24. Sounds like a decent result, at least a good start. These are the rounds I was describing above, not sure where their use fits in but about the same as a decent FAC air rifle. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.22_CB http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.22_BB
