i have seen this when the you load the mag, by pressing the rim of the next round too hard on to it, or trying to load one too many rounds in the mag..
I wonder whether the initial issue was an uncharged round?
i did think of that but it doesnt explain the damage to the polymer tip
agreed.. that i cant explain...

I actually got a new 3wt reel as well this week...
I had a lineaffe alps 3wt on my 3wt 7ft rod, it was shite... but served a purpose.. Now my 3 wt is basically my fun rod... nothing serious... so i bought a Brytec from Ebay.. its a machined alloy reel. that i have put my millend 3wt floating back on too...... seems ok for £22
better than my mate........
who rang me yesterday, whilst watching a doe, 10 yards past his zeroing point, that he was just about to shoot at, following his strip down and rifle clean.
He was not a happy chappy!!
well done on the 2 though
we shoot thousands of Winnie subs a year.. you do have to keep the chamber clean.. and the ejector lugs clean.. but no miss fires, very accurate, and the results speak for them selves..
the only other point you may wish to consider, is to line the trench, kind of bagging the infill, with terram/geotextile membrane stops it getting lost in to the soil...keeps it clean as well.
You've got to be really careful what you say to people these days.
A muslim bloke I work with was bragging that he had the entire Koran on CD......
All I did was ask him to burn me a copy and all hell broke loose !
