    I'm looking for a New fly rod.. just something smaller that my 7wt 10ft 6" and bigger than my 7ft 3wt I want a 9ft 5 wt as a stand alone set up.. or similar The rods I'considering are Sonik sk3 sk4 Greys GRXI+ Greys GS2 Wychwood aura or trufly Aleka A4 The reels im looking at really are the GRX500 in 4/5/6 size, as I already have the 6/7/8, and its excellent.. I also want opinions on WF5F lines, that are easily castable, not cheapest... cortland 444, greys platinum, rio?? Knowledgeable opinions please, based on experience, not guesswork.. And yes, I will be going

    If you are stuck on a budget, I suggest you have a look around for a set of Opticron High resolutions on the bay. There is a set for about £100 at present. Ive stalked for years with a pair, and most folk i stalk with also highly rate my binoculars. Do not compare them to Zeiss/Leica etc.. but under conditions legal to shoot deer, i.e. hour before, Hour after sunset, I have never found my self in a position where they failed to provide me with enough information to make a decision to pull a trigger. I also use them at night foxing on the lamp, and at sensible ranges provide adequate informat

    aye, its quite common to see them swimming... I've witnessed Roe swimming numerous times.. I've even got it on video from blairgowrie this year on Loch Marlee when I was Piking.. Its one of those 'stop what you doing and watch' moments,.,,

    I use a 140 for everything, lurchering (rabbits), lamping with the CF for rabbits and foxes.. I dont have variable power, although occasionally I feel a little underpowered, especially with the rifles.. I've had this one 5-6 year, when it fails terminally, I will get a 170.. I'm too tight to buy one until it fails.... just my own opinion.... Matty
