I tried not to go hospital Sunday but it swelled up double so the missus whisked me off. Lol. Don't envy you doing yours 3 times though.

I've only seen it in this red bitch once before. I was stuck doing something with the terrier and asked my mate to take the lurchers back to my car and get them home. He got to the car, let them off and the red bitch ran the mile back to me. Brindle bitch just went with him and did as she was told. It can only be a good thing when we are trying to work them I suppose.

That had me in stitches ?
-
They are more whippet than collie I think. I'm sure socks said his bitch was 7/8 whippet and the sire was 3/4 whippet.
-
Haha mint photo. He's one of them dogs with loads of expression.

Can't beat the brindles lurcherman...

Lol that dog doesn't give a f**k. Haha. Proper chilling. He just needs a spliff now. Lol

Broken my ankle mate. Torn some of the ligaments and tendons, dislocated the joint and fractured the fibula. How I did it? Your guess is as good as mine. Lots of alcohol was involved, jumping onto a car and a flight of stairs played its part. From what I've been told. Lol. Ouch lol.About 6/7 years ago I stepped of a ladder while plastering a ceiling, thought I was 2 rungs up,apparently I was4,went down like a tonne of bricks on my drill which was near the bottom of ladder, heardthe drill snap as I landed on it....went to stand up and realised the drill was fine,it was my ankle Id heard

I couldn't sit in the house any longer so tommy27 came to pick me and Ellie up and we went for an hour out. I knew a spot where I could sit on the bench near the car park and they could walk the dogs. As soon as they let the dogs off though the red bitch was straight back to me... No matter how much they shouted and I told her to go on she wouldn't leave my side... So we found a stick and did some retrieve work. She rarely retrieves to hand, always falls short, but today she seemed to know that I wasn't getting off the bench so she brought it to me every time. Funny

Its a bit like the old English longbow archers who started training at around the age of 8 I think. There is logic in that, but the training would have to consist of fast walking and trotting on hard surfaces wouldnt it? That sort of steady repetitive action that builds up over time. Its controlled at least. No its not. That's how I interpreted what you said too. You said "as a general rule the growth plates finish development at 15 months, and its in the dogs interest not to put work like pressure on the joints until they have finished growing". read it again then.Read what again? This thread isn't about 9-15 month old pups though fella. It's about triggers pup. And I think you will find Kens pups are out working with him daily from day one. I might be wrong. Ask the man. -
