  1. Cheers Elliot, Them rabbits went for dog food. Bit late now for my butchers to be buying them
  2. Visited a little spot I haven't haunted in a while. Well perhaps 10 months. It's only a small permission of acres and in the past we have taken good numbers. One of the good things about this spot is it has an elevated shooting point running through the middle of it, and when the wind is in the right direction it makes for good shooting. As usual I decided for a quick look and didn't take any bags or game carriers and to start the night off on a downer I lost my knife out my pocket whilst taking the first laid down shot. I did find it after I retraced my steps but by this time I had a hea
  3. Nice going billy. How's the son in law shaping up?
  4. Quality as usual Stuart. You seem to be getting along with that set up
  5. If your not getting paid for it. Then tell the cheeky tw*t to dispose of them. Ok. Perhaps not so much in them words for fear of you loosing your permission but I would be having a word to come to some sort of compromise. Could there not be a midden or a private dumping hole you can wang them in? Lol. Cheeky fecker.......come and deal with my rodent problem and take your spoils home!! You may be getting charged next for the privelidge.....!!
  6. Forget the rifle. But you are not going to be cutting through this lot with a bow saw.
  7. Get yourself a chain saw Make and model depends on your budget but as you go along you will soon learn that B&Q stuff is crap and can't be fixed or get parts. So I will say sthil or husqvarna . You get what you pay for. A little ms190 or husky equivalent will set you back around £100 second hand. OK for firewood but that's it. Whatever you get. Make sure you learn how to keep it sharp.
  8. There is very little variance with sound mods on air rifles running at FAC levels. Obviously you want a fairly good one but it doesn't need to be anything special or listed on your ticket. Other than unknown. FAC rapids are two a penny and reasonably cheap. You are looking for something that's not been tinkered with. So a factory set FAC. Not one that's been home done. Unless it's from someone with a good name. I understand people's perception of FAC air and as laird rake commented above as a lot of others do. But I use mine regularly for work where a rimfire isn't allowed or the tool
  9. Now you know where to look As I said earlier. The only attribute ( so long as you don't get your fingers burned ) is the potential power output. And again I will repeat. Monkey metal. I'm not saying this because I have a dislike for the career. I have had one in bits and they are shite.
  10. I doubt that very much. Granted they have their advantages but are poorly constructed from monkey metal. Don't fettle or tune very well and parts are hard to come by.
  11. If it's safe to shoot them and you have permission then crack on. A rat is a rat.
  12. .177 is no good at FAC. Perhaps up to 18ft/lb but certainly wouldn't be my preferred choice. .20 maybe. But your limited for pellet choice and the hassle of trying to get hold of a rifle in your situation. As I already suggested. Unless you can get hold of a rifle with a bottle your choices are going to be limited and the low shot count is something your going to have to consider. Or just get a rimfire. As for an airgun. You won't go wrong with the HW 100
  13. Can you not get one posted to your RFD?
  14. The HW would be better quality over the BSA. But there isn't much in it. As for shot count, especially for a FAC rated pcp. Have you not considered a Rapid or even if it pains me to say, a Daystate?
  15. Hi Ben. Depending on the power output at FAC and the air cylinder size. You may not achieve 30 shots. A service should only be needed as and when performance drops. Routine maintenance and cleaning should be more than enough.
  16. Hello and welcome!! Are you having a senior moment? Or using someone else's account??
  17. Ferreting like ninjas. Welcome to the site. I hope someone helps you out.
  18. Put a price up or it's locked and you can sell via pm. Thanks.
  19. +1 for the Rapid Including the reasons Paul has already put. But they can be fettled in the right hands. Reducing the noise of the action and making them incredibly consistent. Plus a good shot count.
  20. I think you have a bit of testing to do. some 21 - 24 grain brands perform well and depending on the power 12-25 ft/lb there is very little difference between some 16 & 19 grain pellets. You may find that some brands are just shocking and perform poor. Sometimes the barrel can just be fussy.
