Why would you want to wipe out magpies?They are a native species, they may be predators but they have a place. Numbers might need controlling but eradication is just stupid, we've already lost enough species because of idiots with guns. The last wild passenger pigeon in America was shot by a dickhead with a BB gun, why would you want the magpie to go the same way? Calm your passion TT. Clearly an off the cuff comment.

However the 40mm will likely give you a wider field of view and the ability to mount the scope lower and I have to say in my experience the 50mm only gives you a few extra minutes at dawn or dusk To be fair. Your not going to gain very much with a £60 scope. FOV, light gathering or anti glare etc. A cheap scope means cheap glass. Mounting the scope lower?? Atvb

They are ok for the money and you will find the beam will cut through mist and fog better than the cheap gun lights. Which tend to flood and glare back.
