  1. If they are getting a fair amount of feed though, and are still looking "Scraggy"... check em out for parasites.... Worm with flubenol powder or something similar, and have a go with the delousing powder. Birds can suffer with parasites both external and internal, as can all animals, and any amount of feed wont sort that out. The worms / lice will be sucking every bit of goodness out of the bird.... you might as well throw the extra feed down the loo if that is the case. Might be good to try a routine treatment.... Toni x

  3. Hi mate.. even if your picture is dark, you can still do something with it in photoshop. Ive seen ones where it was nearly black, and I still got something from it. The weather the way it is at the momet dosnt constitute good photography..its been said, 'a good photographer knows when not to take photos' But, for the likes of us, we want something, anything..If your camera is set on P, this is where the camera does everything for you, you will get dark results, you have to trick the camera, in really poor light you may have to go manual, I set usually to the smallest F number possible on t

  10. I know you've made up your mind now, but just to reiterate, I bought an old hunter midi, that had been standing in a field under a tarp for 5 years. I gave it to a mate who runs an engineering firm, and races stock cars - he sand blasted the thing and sprayed it with his manifold paint and it came up good as new! It took 3 years before it needed a touch up where it got the hottest (on the hood) Any small areas I used some stuff called Zebrite (i think) something which my Nan recommended, like a cream, that they used to black the fire grates with in the oldun days I think thats the stuff
  11. Your camera uses Zuiko lenes, unfortunately there isnt the choice of Nikon and Canon cameras..as its already been mentioned, up to 300mm is ok. Even with the bigger lenses you still have to get close. I use a -400mm lense, Zuiko will not do this sort of size. Maybe Sigma or some other company may do a lense with your fitting. I use auto focus 90% of the time. Ive never tried tele converters, maybe some of the other lads can help you out here, but again, you will be limited to what you can get. Thanks for that, useful bit of info. I really am going to have to set aside a good hour o
  12. Mmmmm..... I need to swat up on what all the settings do too.... I think i just used the portrait setting..... Its all a bit confusing for a minute.

  14. I must admit I've been trailing through some of these stunning photo's with the up most jealousy! There are some excellent photographers on this site!! I've just bought an olympus lens (40 - 150mm) for my E300 slr - thinking that it would get the subject up close enough.... and it doesn't ... I'm refering to the likes of the pictures of the tit's and the robin in the snow..... What lenses do you use for these pics? And do you use the manual or auto focus?.... I was thinking of getting one of these converter lenses to get a closer zoom, that fit over your normal lens, to try and save a fe

  19. The Thirties! This is for all you girls 30 years and over.... And for those who are turning 30, and for those who are scared of moving into their 30's...AND for guys who are scared of girls over 30!!!!... A woman over 30 will never wake you in the middle of the night to ask, "What are you thinking?" She doesn't care what you think. If a woman over 30 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do. And, it's usually something more interesting. A woman over 30 knows herself well enough to be assured in who
