  2. Hehe, sweet, If that was my last ferret he would have been hanging off the bloomin lens!
  3. I had a feeling they might be a bit pricey, although I hadn't actively looked into it yet, ... not really the sort of thing you come across second hand yet either...... I guess its the whole set up, ie: wiring and converter that adds up......
  4. We had loads of problems trying to find good farm shops. They're a complete rip off % of the time. We'll settle for a greengrocer that sell seasonal British produce, local if possible. There's one in Perranporth and a reasonable farm shop that grow their own near Hayle. We got our new polytunnel yesterday, so it looks like the weekend's gonna be busy! We also rear our own Chooks for eggs and the table as well as a turkey and a couple of geese. (chicks and goslings available soon!) We have also just got a couple of porkers to try. It doesn't matter if you stop using supermarkets all togeth
  5. Looks vaguely like a presa, only maybe a bit too "jowly" for them..... they're also a bit fat, so hard to see what the shape really is when fit. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...6&hl=presas There's a post here for a couple for sale, have a look at the pics of them, and also the pic of the presa on BigBulls profile. you'll see what I mean about the finer jowl.....
  6. My Nan used to live in Winstanley Road in Wellingborough, only a 10 minute walk from the town... I thought it was a bit rough It was a few years ago now, and I'm a through and through country gal, so any bit of tarmac and cement is a shock for me P.S.... was it the Arndale Shopping centre there?.... I'd never seen such a big shop's place (I have lived a bit since then though )
  7. Mmmm, I know where you're comin from, but I bought these from the local agricultural merchant - in thier pest control section, and they weren't cheap either! I honestly thought they must be the better traps being a fiver for a pack of two! hey ho! Me thinks the ag. merchants must be making a good mark up!!
  8. I think you could be right there Darcy... Although it a lens specificaly for the olympus lens I have I was reading the instructions ( all be them brief) and it said to make sure that you had the camera in full telephoto mode to avoid the tunnel effect.... telephoto mode?... argh, so I'll have to get back to my camera instructions.... I dont know what the telephoto mode is even Tiny Tim, I did take the pics in both auto and manual focus, and its the same result in either case. Its a High Definition X2 teleconverter lens - Merkury optics Mad Al.
  9. make yourself one like this. http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u203/1f...28house0004.jpg I like that, nifty thing! thanks, I will have to show my bro that, see if he can make one.
  10. There was no clear film on the lens, no lens cap left on, not taken through a window... mist on the lens is what it looks like, but there was none visable....... Do you think it could just be a crap lens?
  11. Mmmm, looks like the humane traps are the ones, It will be interesting to see what she sends me out as samples!
  12. This is the teleconverter lens, and one of the pics I took with it...... Spot the problem??? What do you think the problem is?.... I'm all deflated now
  13. lol only a x2, but I thought its about all I need for my 40 - 150mm lens. Its heavier than I expected! - By Merkury optics... And seems to be ok till you get to full zoom, then you get a misty effect not sure if its me not doing it right, or what But in all said and done, I bought the thing off ebay, from America, and inc shipping it cost £26.00... so I wasn't really expecting great shakes. might just get me that little bit extra length I was after.......... I mean zoom!
  14. My tele converter lens has just arrived I must go play with it ... I'll let you know later how good it is.... or isn't
  15. http://www.pest-stop.co.uk/content/view/125/372/ I bought these traps after having an occasional visitor to my tropical aquarium cabinet... They'd been set for a few weeks with no luck, using chocolate in one and peanut in the other as bait. Yesterday morning the kids shreeked that we'd caught one but that it was still alive... nightmare Still alive to the extent it was dragging the trap round with half its face squashed So, I had to do the right thing by that one, while having to explain to the kids, that no, we couldn't let it go, because all its jaw was mashed, and it wouldn't su
  16. LOL if I got the chance to talk that'd be great..... But two fussing babies normally put pay to that P.S, I even thought about doing my shopping on line a few weeks ago, but then I realised I'd become a total recluse If I did that!!
  17. I would LOVE to be able to buy everything local, ... my other half has a butchery business, which buys from local abbatoirs, so thats covered, but the problems comes to veg, and all the other things you need for a family of six. I have 4 sproggits, age 8, 7, 21 months, and 9 months.... The thought of having to drive to 3 or 4 different shops to get all I need fills me with dread! I live in a small village that has one shop (Londis), and its a bit hit and miss as to wether they have everything you need anyway.... I'm awaiting getting enough £££'s saved to buy me a poly tunnel to grow my
  18. ... on the PC, if it wasn't for your post "Today it rained ice" I've had my samsung D900 for about a year now, but never bothered with the cd for the computer features... The way I've always been, is "a phones a phone" and not bothered messing about with music and stuff. I had however taken a few pictures here and there, and last night installed the programme that came with the phone, and saw my pictures for the first time on big screen it was great Especially because there were a few of my baby the day he was born, taken on the phone, because the battery ran out on the camera S
  19. Pretty much as I suspected, TS. Apodemus. 'Wood Mice'. That's the good news, in so far as it goes. They're not such " Commensal " as 'Bumming a spot of warmth'. That is; They're not after ye food stuffs and liable to be everywhere, into everything. They're lodgers. Not permanent and unwanted House Guests. All they're doing is keeping warm by entering ye property and, having sussed out the warmest spot there is that heated tank ..... The chinese type traps ye buy in the sort of place ye bought those are - as ye discovered - worse than useless. I wouldn't consider their use. Springs could b

  23. Ts tm. Watch those wires. What sort of traps are you using? Baited with what? Positioned where? Any idea what sort of mice ye have? What basic colour are they? Little brown ones or bigger yellowy ones with big eyes and ears? Hi Ditch.... I know.... the wires were what worried me the most too, especially because the kids race to turn the light on in the mornings. I've just bought some new traps from the local agric. merchant...I cant for the life of me remember what they were called, so I've took a picture. I used a bit of chocolate in one bait well, and a peanut in the other... he went f
