    spiders!!!!!!!

Hmmm, I have a bit of a love hate thing going on with spiders... I've been bitten by a little light brown stripey one that was inside my rubber glove in the milking parlour years ago, and it felt like a wasp sting, (i always checked my gloves after that)!! And I dont like splatting spiders cos they make a mess.... Usually transferd by means of a glass and a sheet of card.... If they are really big and scary, the hoover works a treat... you can actually feel some of them hitting the sides of the tube! All that said and done, I have a really impressive cartwheel spider in the bottom of my big

  6. I got attacked in the woods were I worked once, by a buzzard!!! I've never heard of it happening before, but I was cycling to work early one morning (about 6:00am in the summer) and as I rode under the canopy of tree's something twatted me SO hard from above, and it felt like it was ripping my scalp off. I screamed, cos at first I thought a tree was falling on me  then it did it again, and I saw it swoop up back into the tree's.... Left me bloodied and a sniveling wreck for an hour or so... but at least it was a wildlife attack and not a weirdo!! But in all seriousness, when a hi

I live in Cornwall, and If I waited till the first frost to pick the berries there would be hardly any left! I do wait untill they have lost the dusty whiteish covering though! I normally pick in the end of Oct, and I dont bother freezing them. Just prick em and stuff em in the jars I've made a few batches now (although none last year as the berries failed) Had one that had a

I do want to have a regular supply so am gonna have a go, and yep, the spring time feeding was my main aim, but thought I'd start early to get the hang of the process, then hopefully by spring, with the larsen in full tilt, and some decent grub on tap, my little birds will be up in numbers and have healthy young.

  18. I've been threatening to have a go at keeping my own, as the birds really dont seem to go for the dried ones, and buying them live from a reptile shop is sooo expensive. I've looked up a few ways off the internet, but I'd like to hear some peoples accounts first hand ..... Thanks
