It's like any other domesticated animal that escapes/gets released into the wild. Most don't do too well, but the ones that do can form colonies same as their wild ancestors. Polecat colonies around urban areas are mainly hybrids, so there's various ways round it. A lot of people mention these colonies I've never came across one have you?, must be lots of free good working stock.I've trapped lots of stoats and never found any ticks perhaps I don't know what a tick is?

Bollocks. Nobody's lecturing you. Things change. Animal husbandry moves on as people find better ways to do things. In my opinion things have not changed and animal husbandry hasn't really moved on.What has happened is that this computer thing has aloud us to talk. Me feeding to last 24hrs in one hit is in theory the same as feeding 4 meals a day. All this boils down to is the fact that some people have more time on their hands than others. I don't agree with feeding chunks of meat in a bowl,on the bone and in the shavings for me but every one to their own. Socks, I believe

Well I wondered how long it would be before someone said how unrealistic it is feeding kits 4 times a day don't you folk go to work?.I feed once a day I take the fur and bones out when i put fresh in.My kits are well fed but not fat always pleased to see me, DON'T bite and are weaned at 6 weeks They would sleep all day If I let them. I just can't see how a mother would take a rabbit home to her kits And i don't suppose they would mind the odd maggot ether,Fox's certainly don't and I've seen some very healthy ones.My ferrets don't seem to mind flies but i keep them as clean as i can.I don't l

Cheers everyone i have permision to hunt on the army barrcks i;m based at so i will save that till November / December as there is no traveling Wednesday & Friday afternoon off and the boss can't sack you ? sounded like the job I'd like until I say the "army barracks I'm based at" bit,been there,done that ,no thanks but all the best to you and happy Hunting.

I have kept ferrets for over 40 years and don't breed from them every year,you don't need a sniped hob and you certainly don,t need a jill jab.Just keep her clean she will come out of season as she came in, All on her own.Or you can listen to the crap on here your ferret your choice.

thats what I sid to her. but she is a pet owner and thinks that it wont need one because all it will need is cuddles and fun. this pisses me off having said that if you get it and give it attention all day every day you can get um as tame as cats mate. But she is only 13 (my age) and is at school most of the day. Im okay becase I have more than 1 but i wouldnt leave a kit on its own How can anyone say it is cruel to keep a ferret on its own ? that is like saying it is cruel to keep a dog on its own.Like Kay, I have had ferrets that wont tolerate being with another and i dont belive
