  1. Take it from me mate that ferret in that picture is malting. Julia that picture you posted of your ferret in season IS NOT IN SEASON she has finished season. Can I just ask how long have you been keeping ferrets?.By the way they don't all shed at the same time. I'd tend to agree. If you look closely, it's only the guard hairs that have come off, it's not completely bald. Maybe it is just the guard hair, none of the others have this problem, i didnt say she was completely bald....................... I didn't say you did, LDR mate. I was trying to say that if it was anything
  2. You don't appear to be listening mate.Don't use ferrets on rats, you will get them injured and feck them up for rabbiting. You appear to have read too many plummer books and not done much ratting with ferrets .I used to ferret the feckers a lot and personally believe its the best form of dog /ferret combination there is .No ferret has ever been spoilt for rabbitting that i have owned nor have i lost them through bites ,attacks .Drains and concrete claim more lost ferrets than rats ever will .What i have found is that some ferrets will stick to the job for many seasons whilst some do a seas

  4. Yeah thats right, no swelling left now, so i assumed she'd come out of heat???? Will get her checked out and jabbed if needs be.....cheers for all advice....... I've never read so much shite about a ferret in malt. The ferret is malting "getting a new coat". some ferrets will still be on heat no problem But if you want to give the vet your money I'm sure he'll take it.

  11. Funny you should say that,I opened the side door to take the dogs out, and,I had to duck straight away,as a young Blackbird flew straight towards my face.As I ducked it flew past me and into the window at the back of the room.It must of been a suicide job,as,if I hadn't opened the door it would of flew right into it(and it is a solid door-no glass). As Foxdropper said though,it might of been being chased by a Sparrow hawk.................anyway the ferts loved it.............. I think your blackbird is a starling mate.

  13. Years ago before locator's where invented and before a lot of you where born muzzle's where used as a way of ensuring that the ferret didn't kill,a rabbit in those days would have been, to most,a Sunday dinner. ferrets were used to pouch so the poacher couldn't hang about waiting for the ferret to come out.In most cases the ferret came to no harm a man trying to feed his family wasn't concerned for the ferrets welfare. These days of course we have the locater and we ferret for fun not to feed the kids so the muzzle which was a handy tool has gone. There was never a muzzle that was stitched to t
