Amazing it sure was still buzzing off it and have been trying in my head to pick out the best bits of the day but it was just brilliant right from the moment of catching up with a pal you ain't seen for a while ,we recon around 75 odd Bass we landed between us yesterday and that's a spot to match anywhere for the sport of Sea Bass fishing. So enjoy your feast mate and proper chuffed it was a good day for you as it was a belter for us in every way and do well mate..

What a fecking day is all i can say, Green Lurchers might be along later with a pic or two but he might be to knackered with all the reeling in he had to do . Met up at the quayside and had a good catch up natter while we got the boat and ourselves all ready for launch as it's been a couple of years since we last met up ,we then set off for the half hour journey to the mark in glorious sunshine with very little sea breeze and with a dropping tide all looked "just right" .We trolled a few lures for a few hours then beached the boat and got our legs wet with a bit of casting into some shallow wa

The best of luck to you. just remember to bury your shit like a good hippy eh -
Not sure if he used to come on this forum but some might remember from another forum a fella(Geoff) who was out on the Humber i think and had a seal grab a fish in his fish bag and it tipped him out the kayak he was in,he couldn't get back in and very nearly died if it hadn't been for someone on the shore that saw him in trouble and called the life boat.He was ok but sold his kayak,we've had them close to the boat and maybe have expected a big run from a reel but so far so good for us at the moment..

Have you tried free lining a bait in the fast flow?,might be easier than trying to learn to cast a fly rod with trees about as it's hard enough learning on a grass football field..

We got a few resident seals where we fish and have to say they don't seem to make a difference to our catch numbers if there in the water or lying on the shingle.. Good luck next time your out lads and put up some pics...

To many sea gulls for us to use surface lures where we fish and it's a shame as we fish real shallow but stick out a surface and within seconds a empty sky is full of feckers one of which will get hooked up,had a family boat day yesterday and found a bit of time to have a quick fish with a few being caught but nothing special size wise..

Maybe because unfortunatly have buried more than of our fare share of mates and seen the impact of such things on their kids, that's why some of us have mentioned some concerns we might have, we were not trying to over complicate anything. Not going to get into a row on this thread so i'm out and good luck on everything you do for his family..

What someone maybe should tell them that the fishing comp has been going on for a while and it was a thing their Dad went to,it's not a thing for him as such... I'm sorry if i sound a bit to the point but better to say it how it is, but everyone who goes should crack on as normal as they always have done be they go or not...

My mum has a bench for my old dad and a brother,it's on southsea front and looks out over the water, each time i visit my mum i go down and have a sit and it sure feels a bit different that when i sit other places and think about them both.

We (me and a pal) have been fishing this spot for a few years now and it produces a good number of Bass each year,we catch hundreds and most are legal but we just take what we think is right and a lot more go back than come home.We have spent a few quid and plenty of time and effort into having the right set up to fish where we do safely so we do what you do and stock then release....Have to say were planning a trip out to a bank 30 miles out soon where some lunkers live and it'll be a moment for me if i land a big fish that is a good 20 years old and it comes to knocking her on the head ..

Not sure to be honest as i have always just painted mine with a outside black and use a roller,on the topic of rollers the trays are perfect bird baths as they have a nice slope so young birds can't drown they clean so easy and you get a free paint roller when you buy one as a bird bath....

What he said......... -
And either buy it black or paint it black when you have put it up as your'll see your birds so much better with black wire..
