  1. Set up near to where i know there are several does and at least one buck .Tucked into a hedge and let it settle a bit .Got comfy on the sticks and had a call .Now then, ive seen them come in rather fast before but this was a new one on me .Only peeped twice when there was a crashing to my left and a buck came hammering through to stand ,head up and testing the wind .He was a good range from me and face on ,probably 180yds or so .On sticks im not confident of a neck shot to that range ,i know my limitations and stick to them so i waited until he was more settled and peeped again but to say peep

  6. Travelled to a spot in the dark and set up for daylight to await the sunrise and a possible chance of a buck .There is a large set aside field here which is in the middle of a vast acreage of corn .Got myself under an overhanging tree and waited .The first streaks of light appeared with a few spots of rain and revealed 5 does at the far end unseen in the morning gloom but very apparent to the trained eye against the sandy earth .I watched these for a time then became aware that another deer had entered the field from opposite me ,a young buck ,bordering adulthood with a neat set of antlers of

Busterdog mate -believe me ,there are plenty of bucks about somewhere . 22. Went down to Martins and then on to a piece of ground he has .Fair bit of land here but we only managed to bump a doe befoe the light started fading .We decided on a sit down to see if anything made use of the last rays of sun so we headed for the far boundary .I saw a deer coloured shape through a gap in the far hedge but no i-d as it really was a fleeting glimpse .Martin put me in this area while he went through to another freshly cut field to sit up as well .Once in position ,i had a squeak and almost instantly a buck jumped through the hedge to my right and stood broadside offering an easy
  23. If the fences are getting broken mate then theres more than one type of vermin on the prowl .In my experience ,foxes go over or under an electric fence not through it like other ,more solidly built creatures .But any way ,good luck on the clearance job mate .
