  1. Another this evening and more signs of the buggers in the sand outside .Keeps one hand in so to speak as i dont get to do much trapping these days .
  2. Both made by berreta if im not mistaken!.Does the sako mag fit the t3 or not as this is a big improvement .
  3. Nice going mate .Seeing is believing mate, damage wise .Nicely done .
  4. We mostly know what the ideal is but what annoying habits have you come across in an otherwise good dog .My pet hate is the dog [and yes i have had one ]that wants out of the dig as soon as you break through .She was a propper stayer but seemed to think it was over when the light hit her .The other thing is noise on the couples or when boxed in the truck ,does my head in . As for the good qualities ,goes without saying or they go .I rate finding without showing personally .
  5. My thoughts exactly mate .Laddet culture ,lol. Why cant girls be petite and only speak when spoken to like when i was a lad .You may be sticking up for what you believe but violence is not the answer .An old head on your shoulders teaches you that mind .
  6. So youd be happy with one of his pups would you mate .......................i thought not . Dosnt matter how you dress it up or defend it ,the mojority of genuine lads on here will have nothing to do with that sort of behaviour whether from across the pond or not .As for the warrener vids ,pathetic excuses for terriers and bad working practice that should leave the owners embarrasssed to say the least and all done in the name of fox control . To coyote hunter -Not calling you a liar ,just explaining that you may not have spent those 20 years wisely or learnt nothing from them. To those wh
  7. FOR ME ,THE MOAN HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH STUPID LAWS,ITS ALL ABOUT THE DOGS.THERE ISNT A QUARRY WORTH WORKING THAT CANT BE WORKED WITH ONE DOG .YOU JUST NEED THE RIGHT SORT . BAITING AT THE END OF A DIG IS NOT LEGAL IN ANY COUNTRY IM SURE AND DOES NOTHING FOR A YOUNGSTER AT ALL .SO BEFORE ANY OF YOU DEFEND THIS ,THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU EXPECT IN A TERRIER AND HOW YOU EXPECT PEOPLE TO ACT AT A DIG REGARDLESS OF QUARRY OR COUNTRY .IF INDEED THE LAD HAS 20 YEARS IN THE GAME HE HAS NOT SPENT THEM WISELY,IN GOOD COMPANY IF THATS TODAYS RESULT .PATHETIC ,HARD MAN BULLSHIT .NO JUSTIFICATION AT ALL .
  8. He may be a field sports vet but he is no terrierman and no doubt about that .Pulling a tail is not right .I have seen several dogs lives cut short by doing this but no harm with the leg pulling .Theory is one thing ,expe Isn't the tail so you can pull them by it too, if stuck? No its bloody not! Any more than YOUR ear isnt a handle for dragging you about! SO here we are again your comment no its bloody not, , OK lets just say you terrier to ground you have dug to it its locked on , so you need to despatch humanly the quarry being a pheasant killing fox, 1 do you call
  9. Those names we refer to ,and no need for lists ,are in the main geuine blokes. They have all done their bit for the working terrier .What happens is that those not capable of breeding anything good themselves try to find instant success by BUYING something which has the potential to be great .I know of none alive today that set out to breed a terrier with their name attached to it .Lads finding a particular mans breeding to their liking have attached the surname as a recognition of this fact . Lads with no other selling point than its breeding will use this to get rid of stuff and lets face it
  10. Probably get some stick for this but who cares .Ive shot hundreds of foxes with the .222 and wouldnt have thought theyd been any deader with the other two.Calibre in any live shooting ,as long its within the law is a personal choice and nothing more .Ive shot long ranges with the .222 as have plenty of others .Getting used to a rifle is what its about which some of you chop and changers never will .
  11. I think if another vigil is called for ,the flask would maybe keep me awake longer .
  12. Just got off the phone to the g/dealer who explained that the vet had had a prelimenary look at the tumour and made an incission  Her first thoughts are, and wait for it CALCIFICATION OF THE RENAL SECTION ,which in plain terms for you and me is a kidney stone .Im to monitor the carcasses from the area but not sure why or what would be the resulting find if i get another .I didnt speak to the vet mind but that was the g/d version . Her find was backed up by crystal like lumps on the outside of the tumour apparently .Ive had a kidney stone before and the pain was excruciating so this d
  13. One of my landowners phoned me recently and after a long chat about things in general ,he finally got round to mentioning that he'd lost 30 odd chickens in the week to a fox ! .I assured him i would have a look as i get the stalking free here on the back of the fox control .I know what your your thinking ,cant be doing a good job if the farmers lost that many chickens .Well those of you that know the game will also know that you cant be everywhere all the time so losses are bound to happen .The loss was in truth his fault as he never shut the chickens in that night and left it to a neighbour
  14. The very same mate, just the other side the hedge from her actually ,just coincidence though .
  15. Does show more and more as the year goes on .The need to feed the foetus cant be stopped therefore more chance of a shot .
  16. Have to agree with you .The offal, red and green are to be examined by a vet Monday but the carcass has been incinerated.Dont want too many of them .
  17. Isn't the tail so you can pull them by it too, if stuck? No its bloody not! Any more than YOUR ear isnt a handle for dragging you about! SO here we are again your comment no its bloody not, , OK lets just say you terrier to ground you have dug to it its locked on , so you need to despatch humanly the quarry being a pheasant killing fox, 1 do you call come on patch come patch theirs a good fellow come to daddy 2 put your hand in a stroke the good little boy and caress him out of the hole 3 ask
  18. The sun shone here for the first time in ages so i finished work early ,grabbed the gear and went to a place that id seen plenty of does previosly .The ground borders an old railway line and a main road, the wind was wrong for a straight approach so i went aroud the old track to come in downwind. As i walked along the track ,glassing the land ,i saw a brace of does out feeding ,two fields in, and made a note of their wherabouts .Climbed the gate at the top end as its locked and just caught the back of a fox runing through a gateway into the next field .Nothing else here so onwards . This is the
  19. Have to agree Ian .That peruke of mine was sold at auction and is now in Germany .Hideous thing. Another malform mate .
  20. Out this morning at 3am .17 rabbits from a market garden that is hammered by other lampers .sorry no pics
  21. What i will say on this subject is dont leave it too late in the year as young are sometimes left in the tatty drey unless you poke it to the floor .Excellent sport that requires a dog by yourside ,not essential but does make for good retrieval of injured squigs .Most squigs that live untouched by this method are the lucky ones that live in holes but read on .Jackdaw tapping was another past time ofthe young keeper.A method of thinning out egg thieves at nesting time .Hollow trees, old buildings are tapped and the pair or singles shot as they leave the nest. Sqirrels are taken the same way if
