  1. Cats carry very few diseases affecting dogs and are no match for a determined terrier however there are legal issues that im sure will be explained .
  2. They do have good spans mate ,sometimes too wide .Bad luck on the sliver mate but he will still be around i'm sure .
  3. Perspective customer on this thread already John .Nice vid mate ,up close and personal.
  4. Nice write up there mate and good stalk by the sounds of it .Its the stalk that does it for me too .
  5. Friday evening last, i was invited to try for a muntie buck on a patch a mate has ,a patch incidentally that has produced no fewer than 7 gold muntie heads .We arrived to find the farm hands mowing silage fields on the lower ground but our destination was the slopes that surround this place, slopes that scream mutjac from all corners .Areas of trees and thick hedges interspersed with the obligatory bramble patches so beloved by this little deer and all on chalk downland .We could glass the slopes from the farm but my host said we needed to get a move on as it was now 8pm already .The tactic her
  6. No probs mate .As said we were beginning to lose all hope as the weather was coming in a bit but the luck held again Its a very good buck though, one that has held territory here for a couple of years i think .His replacement is in the wings though make no mistake Another medal for the Somerset trophy hunter ,lol. The cost is mountain up a bit now mate ,lol.
  7. fd If you read my post you'll see "Complacency, ignorance, stupidity, arrogance, incompetence, lack of concentration, lack of attention to detail or poor attitude". I think these take into account those you mentioned e.g.piss poor preparation of kit, anxiety, pressure and weather conditions. If you pull the trigger when attempting a marginal shot due to weather, environment, company, or pressure. You need to seriously look at your attitude.IMO I accept that mistakes can and do happen,. But I also believe the less gung ho you are the less frequently the mistakes are made. I'm not that compet
  8. Well outed gents ,fecking messer .Luckily with smolder and gulley on board we are getting through them. . Delete the bounder i say .
  9. You are making yourself look a first class c**t mate with little or no understanding of the real world ,deluded tosser. My guess is you are an ex pat who hungers for the home country ,well f**k off we dont want you back .
  10. All those contributing factors you mention are indeed what contribute to poor shooting along with piss poor preparation of kit, anxiety, pressure and weather conditions that you forgot to mention.None of us set out with these in mind but unfortunately they crop up during an outing especially the pressure issue when in company .I get it and i've shot thousands of deer.I know how to control it but others don't.Maybe we will see a few pics from you about your trips out or a vid or two but then again maybe not .Just to conclude, RE- Johns advertising ,there is a recession on mate or has that not re
  11. Low neck the first, chest the second. If you listened they did say .Wait for the incoming unsafe merchants
  12. John ,like many others on here ,tells it as it is whereas there are those who think the not so well placed shots should be hidden from public view.Give me the honest man anyday and steer me clear of the pretenders ,those that do a lot of talking but never commit any evidence .What is a hunting forum without truth ?.A shambles, full of pretenders with talk overriding facts .The killing of an animal whether for profit or personal satisfaction is always fraut with mis-calculations and as such we should acknowledge the facts ,discuss the facts and agree they arnt the norm.In the the past ive be
  13. IMO the hunting act will never be repealed, gone on to long now without a mention. No worries as nothing has changed at all .Got better if anything .
  14. Propper control there lads .Done my fair share of the organic sheds and its knackering i know .642 our best to date with 5 dogs and 3 cans of red bull ,lol.
  15. Beginning to wonder john as disgrace of all disgraces the bloody thing killed 4 chickens whilst we were there the other night .We will see
  16. Im not fussed as to what anyone thinks regarding this topic but just for the record the lad is under my guidance when he wants it .He is young ,he does get excited about what he does and hes not very articulate but i will say this .Id rather teach him to do the right thing than a know it all that really knows nothing .The land he has now was mine before i went with him to see the farmer and yes he has lambs about and chickens and one of the stipulations of having the ground is that foxes are controlled all year round ,not given foolish seasons to run riot.We have no shortage of foxes around u
  17. I had the benefit of seeing it alive mate and it had a saggy back. Also the head was sloping back a fair bit with long front tines .
  18. .............saw me at a place where i do the foxing to protect free range chickens .Ive been here quite a bit recenty trying to outfox charlie thats nipping in to take a few chickens in daylight .Cubs nearby so they will be dealt with in due course.I also have the stalking here and ive been seeing a buck in the top field whilst sat for a fox on a few occasions now .I tried to put Martin on him a while back but the weather turned cold and windy that evening and he never played ball .Well this evening in question ,he was out again in the long mowing grass and i decided to try for him .The wind
  19. I think ive spotted him mate from a distance though but the rut may see him closer than he would want to be .
  20. jackson rifles will offer a 40% trade in against a new T8 but you should think about a wildcat P8 mate, fully strippable/cleanable and you can oil them so dont rot like the Reflex and even if for some reason the baffling did go in time you can just by replacement baffling. no "ting" when you fire and calibre specific too. atb alan. Any ideas as to cost of the p8 mate
