    Tis a bummer when your heart is set on a particular union that ain't happening .A low sperm count is not the end mind mate (was going to write ask fireman but better not lol).Rather than letting the dog mate once or twice a day under supervision as we all like ,kennel the two together .They will couple more than we think is necessary and fresh sperm is always more vibrant .Allow the dog to cover her whenever she allows ,normally over a 3 -4 day period .How old is he mate?.

I can understand why someone would give up if you were having a bad time in the game, but if youve got the dogs and got the permission i cant for the life of me understand why youd walk away from it. My exact thoughts too Rob and what grates the most .We were talking about pups this year one minute then its change of hobby the next .Some lads on here won't have a clue what's occurred but to those who have ,thanks for the comments and texts .

    Terriers have never stopped me doing other things or going away as I've a good backup team so to me the fact that terriers are a bind doesn't cut much .

    Not digging but whilst lamping one night years ago with a lurcher I heard running behind me and shone the lamp at a line of soldiers running in v formation ,full kit .Never said a word despite me beamimg them all up .I was fishing in a carp pond with another lad at night mid summer when we saw ripples coming at us then a head appeared followed by two more .Frogmen all suited up got out took off flippers and jogged off over the next field despite our asking what the feck they up to messing up the swims .Dug a cat once and another in a net .All part of a varied life lol.

    I've recently had a long chat with the lad I've dug with for more than 20 years and he's informed me he's giving up the terriers to concentrate on gun dogs .He's basically got the same breeding as me and has kennelled a few of mine for years .A recent trajedy with a tree across kennels didn't help but what happens to make someone drop a bombshell like that .Can't get my head round it tbh .

    We've used similar on the kennels my mate has .We've been unable to fund a position where dogs jumping up can't activate though .First day installed I travelled 50 miles from work thinking digs were being stolen ,very sensitive but would be ideal for anti theft in shed etc .
